  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thanks darthspader, but actually when you get on the same horizontal plane at headlight level, it's awesome looking. I will get a pic, but darthspader you are shooting at too high an angle, should be more dead on. I saw it with another forum member's pictures, can't recall whom. As soon as it quits raining and I get the car washed, I'll post a pic. :o

My 2013 using a Sony Nex5t:

Is this better?

That front license plate really screws the look. Glad we don't have 'em.

Good old Virginia though. Plates and stickers all over your car. Fortunate I guess they finally gave up the county plates too.

I agree with you, the 1st Gen for both the original and the updated headlights, have indeed aged well, at least in my opinion.

That was one of the reasons I kept my first Geni and did not go for the 2015 (at least for now :D)

And just for you, here are couple of more pics with the LED DRL upgrade:

And here is how it may look on the highway, when the guy in front is way to slow, and in most cases, promptly gets out of my way

^ I know that some didn't like the Klingon/waterfall grill treatment pre-MCE, but it kinda grew on me and gave the Genesis a more distinctive look; the post-refresh grill is less polarizing, but more generic.

The post-MCE taillights were better as were the headlights w/ the frosted "S" LED running lights.

Big mistake for Hyundai not to keep that shape/design (and the frosted look) on the 2015 Genesis which looks generic (the new Legacy has ones almost exactly the same).

Now that darthspader and daviderle is exactly what I'm talking about! Nice photos guys, thanks. I'm really glad I got the 2013 over the 15, the 1st. generation has such a classy aggressive look.

You are most :welcome:

But do share some pictures of your new R-Spec, which is black, if I am not mistaken?

I had a choice of a black and a white R-Spec, I was moments away from pulling the trigger on the black one, when the Mrs. said: "You better get the White one if you want to get the newer Geni in a year or two"..... So White it was ...

Looking back, it was the right choice, as it does look sharp in White and I am loving every moment of driving in it, especially after I drive hers once in a while... :D

Yes daviderle it is black, I actually wanted white but we just came out of a white Z and my wife said no to the white. All the white ones I could find had the tan interior with the light wood grain accent that just looks too, sorry if I offend anyone, cheap and plastic. This is our first black car and I'm starting to really enjoy the color, it does turn heads but a bitch to keep clean. Seems part of enjoying a car is cleaning her up though. It has been rainy around here lately, I can't remember this much rain for late spring in central Texas, not complaining about the rain, it will soon not rain for a good 3 months.

Hopefully pics this weekend :D:D:D

Darek-The DRL is not LED or is it?
Tempting to replace with a pair of LEDs but after watching Dave's video clip I changed my mind.

I did mention the process was somewhat involved :o...

But all I can say it was well worth it for me, as I do not see those horrid yellow reflections in the car in front me any more, not mention I got few complements already including one from the dealer service department manager... :D
