  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No tail lights

Im currently on my 4th diode. They need to get a larger or better diode

The saga continues. I took, 01/31/14, my Genesis to the dealer because the brake lights were not working. They replaced the same diode that was replaced on 06/13/11.

Seems I have the same issue. I just got a nice pre-owned Genesis 2011 4.6, and finding out about this existing issue put me at ease. I go into the dealer this afternoon for them to look into the issue. Hopefully it is as simple as others have experienced!

Just happened to me. Since the diodes are cheap, I'm going to order up a couple of them to have "just in case"

Thanks to all who posted their info and the TSB:)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'm unclear on where this diode is located in the car. The TSB says under the lower crash pad. Is this in the trunk, under the dash, under the hood etc.? Anyone know? I tried Google, which leads me to a Hyundai Veloster page, which looks to be under the driver side dash, but it's unclear.....

EDIT - OK, I found that the diode was basically located in the left side of the foot well on the driver side. The diode holder is tiny (so is the part) and this is secured with yellow electric tape around a larger covered wire. Use a tiny flat head screw driver to lift the tab and pop out the diode, then press and click the new part in. 5 minutes.

My lights now work. This shows how bad ass the forum is:) Glad to avoid the dealer for such a small and easy fix.

The TSB with pictures is posted on the bottom of page 1 of this thread - that should help you out on this.
