  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

Is it me or is it really the car when you select sport mode the car has a bit of a growl to the engine. I know the transmission and suspension are changed. Can't imagine what could be changing the sound of the engine. I knew some models out there pump engine sounds thru the speakers. Very cheezzy. Hope is isn't the case with the new Genesis.

More like normal as the engine is higher in rpm so yes there is more growl.

Just some Likes we found so far on our first road trip with the new car:

Auto trunk opening
Able to press the lock button in the trunk to lock the car.
.

Where is the lock button in the trunk? I have the tech package

Only available with the auto trunk that comes with the Ultimate package.

There's a few things they might possibly be able to do in addition to shift points, like change the air intake flap vs. throttle position and changing spark timing which could give it a bit more noise...

I have no idea if it's actually done. But someone with a scientific mind, an OBD2 reader and Torque/etal. app could probably figure it out.

And if you REALLY want to make a sporty sound with a push button, try these:

I completely agree that's cheesier than Velveeta. Not sure why BMW feels the need to do this.

Cool features:

Vanity mirrors with lights on both drivers and passenger sides:

Extendable visors:

Gas Cap holder. Keeps the cap from dangling onto the paint job :D

Here is a tip for those who lose site of the HUD display with there sunglasses on. Stop by Sunglass Hut and pick yourself up a pair of RayBans with UV protectant, not Polarized lenses and you can see the display just like without the sunglasses on. It is awesome and worth the money.

Two way adjustable head rests. Up & down and in & out.

Someone on here complained that you can't turn off the Compass on the Rearview mirror. Simply press this button. Walla... It is turned off.

Use that cloth that comes with your new Ray Bans to clean your screen with. Works awesome.

You can change the NAV screen display brightness through the settings icon:

You can change the quickness of the response time for the voice commands:

You can turn off that annoying "User Agreement" statement that pops up at start-up.

Through the Bluelink icon you can check Driving Info. I just started the car so there is no info shown here. This feature would be used before powering down your car after a drive.

You can send POI from your cell phone to the car. Pretty cool function.

Not only does this function capture the location but also the phone number.

Here is what we got for mileage back from Orlando today. Not bad for a 5.0 420 hp car. :D

I think the exhaust note difference is likely due to rpm. The exhaust is nice and quiet at low rpm and has a nice throaty growl up above 4k rpm. Sport mode will throw your rpm up there, especially on the highway.

It does sound like a crazy thing to do. But, lots of people buy, for example, Borla exhausts because they are louder.

If you like louder, the BMW sounds louder without annoying people around you.

I tried your suggestion and still get "user agreement" on start up. I have 3.8 tech package. Anyone else in same boat?

Wrong Screen. You need to go into "general" make sure it is ticked off and then the user agreement screen will still pop up but goes away in about 10 seconds. ;)

This is the screen you want.

Correct. It still pops up but goes away automatically without needing you to agree to it on the screen.

True, I guess I hadn't thought about it like that, but it's a good point. Speaking of loud, I asked my father-in-law who's been a Harley owner almost all of his adult life about the loud thing, and he actually mentioned that while some people do enjoy it, for motorcycles the loudness is a good thing for driver awareness.

After 4 months and 10,000 miles I found another "like" this AM. If you shut down the car with the radio playing pretty loud it will be much reduced in volume when you restart the car. The volume just kinda swells up to the previous level when it powers up. No heart attacks from the radio blasting at you as soon as you start the car. Kinda nice. :)

By habit I always turn down the stereo before getting out of the car for that very reason. Thanks for the tip, I never knew that one. I found something new too this morning on the way to work. I never noticed that all the door handles inside the car has lights in them so you can see them in the dark. Cool feature :D

Just a point of note, if you remote start the car it won’t respond to a “open door” remote command while it’s running. Got an email message back saying “Your request for DOOR UNLOCK was not processed. Your vehicle has been running for an extended period. Please return to your vehicle or turn off your vehicle using the remote stop function.”

Just picked up my 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD, Caspian black on black tonight. Will report back later with likes.

After one week of ownership, my list of "likes" to date:

- All-LED lamps for interior, exterior and switch illumination (with the exception of the DRLs and Headlamps)

- Speaking of Headlamps, I prefer the Bi-Xenon HIDs on the car over LED headlamps, which are not yet a mature technology and don't match the light output and even illumination of a good Bi-Xenon setup.

- The most comfortable seats of any vehicle I have ever driven!

- Even with all the advanced technology in this car, the configuration and controls are about as logically laid out as possible.

- Well placed, dedicated buttons and knobs for the Climate Controls and Radio/Sirius XM/Optical Disc Player.

- Well designed and integrated HUD, with the ability to customize the displayed items. I love having the Blind Spot information available in the HUD.

- The Haptic feedback steering wheel gives the exact amount of feel to notify you of the warning without being too aggressive.

- Flawless Bluetooth integration with my HTC One M8 phone.

- The optical disc player recognizes and plays DTS DVD audio.

- The 17 speaker Lexicon Logic 7 system sounds incredible. My mp3 and m4a files never sounded better!

- The moving map display on the 9.2" HD screen looks great when driving without the aid of navigation.

- The overall fit, finish and construction of the car is top-notch. Body seams are very consistent and have small gaps. Panels line up perfectly on the exterior and interior. One place I always check for panel alignment is where the tail lights are split between the trunk lid and the rear quarter panels on the car. The seams line up perfectly on my car. The paint has very little orange peel on vertical surfaces and none on the large horizontal surfaces like the hood and trunk. With the low VOC paint systems used in the auto industry these days, getting a smooth paint job is much more difficult than it used to be.

- I really love the quality ride and handling characteristics of this vehicle. It feels solid and refined, without feeling disconnected from the road. The steering has the right amount of weight - light in low-speed maneuvers and more weight when you are up to highway speeds. The doors have that "bank vault" solid feel and sound when closed. The car feels very much like it weighs 4200 pounds, yet is still responsive and fairly agile for it's weight. The 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan is not just a Home Run, it is a Walk-Off Grand Slam Home Run!

+1!! Couldn't agree more. :)
