  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Re: G80 Emblem

I wonder how legitimate that is. I know G380 emblems have been for sale but I wonder if they'll use the same font for the new Genesis brand.

Re: G80 Emblem

Is it a secret where you bought it?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Re: G80 Emblem

The G90 has their "G90" badge on the left side of the trunk. I would think that the G80 would be in the same place. Won't know for sure until the G80 2017 models come out.
I wonder how many G1 owners will add this badge?.....

Would seem pretty silly as the G1 is not even remotely like the G80 - the G80 is basically a rebadged G2.

Also, your assumption on badge placement is correct as evidenced on the G80 that was displayed at the recent Detroit Auto Show (different font used too):

It looks like the new front and rear wing badges are also done!

BTW - I was told by a dealer rep that I know was recently in close contact with HMA that the 2017 G80 will not have any real differences from the 2016 Genesis: mainly just a rebadging - we'll see? G2 folks will be able to rebadge and have a G80 clone :)

Re: G80 Emblem

Looks like fog lights are on all models. 3.3 turbo, 3.8, and 5.0

I don't believe there are fog lights on the Base Model of the 2016 Genesis sedan, so probably the same on the G80. Signature and above have them.

Do we know that the G80 will have 3.3 turbo, 3.8, and 5.0 engine options?

I believe he was talking about the G90...

OEM Genesis G380 Emblem - 86312-B1000

It is a U.S. seller in California, mine came in three days.

I don't buy anything without a Photoshop preview. ;)

I just made two straight cuts to remove the 3, taped the two ends together and put it on the car.

The official G80 emblems will be available at any USA Hyundai dealer parts department when the G80 is released (may not have them in stock).

Re: G80 Emblem

No, there was a YouTube video of the auto show and they showed the G80. The 3.8 GDI had fog lights (unlike the 2015 3.8 Genesis). They didn't show a 5.0 G80, but I assume that it will also be offered.
The G90 is offered with the 3.3 turbo and the 5.0 GDI.

Bill, Please hit the quote button when responding so we know what post you are responding to.

It has been revealed a long time ago that the 2016 Genesis has fog lights on all models except the Base Trim 3.8. Safe to assume that on the 2017 G80, that it will be the same (or possibly that Base Trim 3.8 will have it also, but probably not).

Re: G80 Emblem

Just wondering if anyone has found a G80 badge (or one to be combined in that way) that matches the font from the auto show G80. It's harder to see in the one picture posted earlier in this thread, but in this shot you can see the difference in the font. The G has the tail in on the car badge, but it is missing from the G380 badge:

I am going to remove the Genesis badge on my G2, but I want the G80 badge I replace it with to match. Thanks, all!

Re: G80 Emblem

So I'm curious: when people ask you what kind of car it is, what do you say? I have a G2 that came with the wings on hood/trunk but I've removed the "Genesis" and the "5.0" badges. So will you call it a Genesis? A Hyundai Genesis? A Genesis G80?

I tell them it is a Genesis, but I am not pretending it is not a Hyundai. To me, its no different than saying I drive an Accord. If someone asks, I assume they know car models. If they dont, ill explain the manufacturer is Honda.

I call my car a "Genesis". If I had the G80, I'd call it a Genesis G80...
