Re: Problems with the NEW TIRES
Yes, I think many people are having or have had the same issues. In my case it took four separate trips to the dealer and I am still not entirely satisfied. Make sure that your wheels were 'Road-Force Balanced' as this does make a considerable difference. This was a requirement from Hyundai, but many dealers (mine included) don't have the equipment and go with the standard balancing. My dealer eventually had this done at the Chrysler Dealer up the street!
After the road-force balancing, the highway vibration was improved, but the low-speed ride was still a problem. From cold the Michelins are far worse than the OEM Hankooks for flatspotting. The only time I noticed the flatspotting on the original tires is after leaving the car parked overnight and it went away quickly. With the Michelins, they flatspot after an hour or less and the vibration is far worse. It does go away after the tires warm up, but it is embarrassing to take people to lunch and have to explain why your 'luxury' car is jolting their spines on a smooth road.
Is anyone having problem with the replacement tires after the Hancock recall? My car drove so smooth until they put these on. Bounce starts at 60 and gets worse the faster I go. Not a shimmy felt in the wheel, but a slight bounce in my seat - you can see it in the visor and the passenger seat when unoccupied. Anyone else have issues with their new tires? Mine were fine before the recall!![]()
