  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 AWD - Real world MPG

AWD - V6
just complete 1000 miles.
80% city driving
The trip computer says 16.8 mpg

ya rwd 3.8 does about 19 city and 23 highway. kinda misleading. i would say the fuel economy sucks on this car. good thing its a lease because IMO resale wont hold in this old world engine and drivetrain.

Don’t do any city driving. Mixed is 18 to 19 mpg and highway is 23 to 25 mpg. Very conservative driving and I’m okay with the results. For me price paid for a very pleasurable ride.

I'm sure some of the problems of low mileage are caused by people forgetting to make sure they have it in ECO mode....I thought reverting to NORMAL mode when starting the car was a dumb idea.
My Azrea always stayed in the mode selected when starting.
Overall I find the mileage to be perfectly acceptable for the size and weight of the Genny.
The Genny is used for long trips...Shopping and around town we use the Elantra GT :=)

I average about 19.5 city with the AWD version. I drive 95% city every day.

This is in Standard Mode. I agree with another poster I am not crazy about ECO for the city. Too dang slow.

Even when I drive in Sport mode I still get at least 18 MPG.

If I am really easy on the pedal I have consistent hit 21 MPG City.

I have been experimenting with Sport at the light, then flip to ECO when driving along.

Update: Today I drove with ECO mode on (city driving about 20 miles to work). My average was 26.4 MPG. I purposely drove very easy to see what I could get. In some longer stretches between lights I put on cruise control.

My Gen has 3500 miles on it. I drive to work through suburbs of Detroit. This is not like a downtown type stop and go, but it is surface streets through busy sections of various cities. I would continue to keep it in ECO if the traffic is light to moderate but if the traffic is heavy is it is either standard or sport.

I considered the Hyundai Hybrids but frankly the way people drive not having some power under foot (IMO) is not good.

Some more real world data for anyone interested. Drove about my V6 AWD Ultimate 180 mostly highway miles yesterday with regular 10% ethanol fuel in ECO mode using the SCC, with two and sometimes 4 men in the car. At the end of the day the trip computer reported 25.5 MPG. That did include about 45 minutes of some serious stop and go traffic getting in and out of the stadium parking lot.

any more feedback on your 3.8 mpg ? my friend's 2009 3.8 is barely breaking 17mpg city driving. that's pretty bad considering I get 17 city on my 5.0.

There's city driving, and then there's city driving. With my 12 3.8, I was getting 18-20 mpg city driving in Greensboro, NC. Now that I'm in Jacksonville, FL., I'm getting 15-17 mpg. Same car, same driver. Just a lot more traffic and lights and construction. I'd like to see what your 5.0 gets doing my daily commute...

2 weeks in and I am seeing 28-29 when purely highway & cruise set @ 72. Mixed I am seeing ~22-23 and 19-20 when mostly city. 15 3.8 AWD ~11k on ticker. I am always running in ECO.
