  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello experts, I wanted to ask you about something that I can't figure out: a plastic, horizontal clasp on the inside of the trunk lid. I've not found anything in online material, in the manual kindly hosted by a user on this forum nor do the service rep or Parts sales rep have any idea what it's for. I tried peeking inside the genesis on the showroom floor to see if there was an accessory in there but came up empty.

The closest I've come to a good idea is for an umbrella, but I don't know since it doesn't look like it fits anything too thick.

THank you! that makes a lot of sense and I should have thought of it since I used to see them in cars before.

It's for a safety reflector - see https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3869/14423881274_1a156082b1_b.jpg

There was a thread with almost this exact title last year about the same thing :D

There have probably been about 10 threads on this subject over the years.

Funny, I found one that looks exactly like the one in your photo on Amazon, they sell as a 3 pack or 1 pack.

It does not fit while in the case, but does fit when out of the case (though very tight) I have mine up there now, and the other two in other cars, or you can keep all 3 in it.

I know in audi's in Germany they have cut outs in the plastic to show the reflector when stored up in the trunk so that when the trunk is open you can see the reflector at night, for added safety.

Here is a link to the item on amazon (if it does not work, search for "Fasmov Triple Warning Triangle Emergency Warning Triangle Reflector,3-Pack" ) - it is $15 for 3.

They also sell a single, but the cost of that one is $10 for one, so go for 3 for $5 more.

Quality is ok, the rubber feet have a hard time staying on though.

For $15 for 3, I would recommend them.

Seems just as sturdy as a Volvo one, but the feet are slightly shorter, so I am not sure how they will hold up in strong wind from an 18 wheeler blowing by like the ones with the sand base do.

Remember, this euro style is not DOT approved, only the ones with the sand in the base are as they euro ones don't pass the DOT wind tests.

That is why none of the euro cars (or Genny) have them from the factory.

Ill try posting photos of the amazon / Fasmov triangle in the Genny (2nd gen):

Here it is set up (but legs not fully extended (from amazon), it has plastic fabric/ribbon for the fluorescent orange like the German car brands use (that is what you see on the top right of my photo, as it is folded behind the reflector) :

Hello there:

I'm a strong guy, but HITH did you get it in there? I felt like either I was going to break the triangle or the holder...
