DVD Player while in drive

The other day I was in the car watching a movie while parked. I realize the obvious reason Hyundai doesn't allow the dvd player to be viewed while in drive. But I have kids and if we take a road trip anything in excess of 30 minutes they tend to get antsy. So I was wondering if there is anyway to view the movies while in drive to keep them calm? I personally would not try to drive and watch movies no more than I try to drive and text. I did notice the dvd player does continue to play but it only provides audio while in drive.

Just go and buy a portable DVD player for about $100. You can use it at the hotel or at home.

I've got the VIM in my Genesis and got it for my passengers. I was a bit worried before I used it but was fine when I could still drive without being distracted. We used it several times in the last month as well as road trip to the NE over the holidays. Really makes use of the DVD feature and the 17 speaker surround sound system.

What did my parents do without DVD's? We had 4 kids, a dog, a cat, and a 1972 Ford LTD station wagon (without keyless remote access ) yet somehow we survived trips well beyond the "30 minute limit", to include 2 coast-to-coast moves and numerous 24+ hour drives to visit relatives, friends, and various vacation spots.

Do kids read books anymore? When kids are "antsy" do parents take away desert, or TV/computer/play time, or send them to their room upon arrival at home, or effectively scold them, or spank them?

He forgot to say that the kids were 25 and 26. I'd get antsy on a 30 minute trip with my parents too!

In the goal of being technically correct I should have been accurate it is only a 82 inch Mitsubishi. So it's a bit small to weight the rear end down.

To watch Video while driving just disconnect the Speed indicator and transmission selector inputs to the IDS with a switch that opens the circuits. At least on my Nissan Murano All I had to do was disconnect the speed input line. I put a single pole single throw swithc in the wire. Opened the Nav system input stated at ground potential and did not disable the system. Closed it was standard operation.

Hopefully you can still text/talk on your bluetooth while your driving/watching video.

I would stay away from this video-in-motion modification.

I had an aftermarket in-dash nav system in my old car and I hooked up a PS2(thinner one) to play DVDs through it, as the head unit didn't have DVD playback capability.
One time when I was driving from California to Michigan, I stopped by a Blockbuster to buy a few used DVDs to play for the other occupants.
Well, let's say that I found myself paying more attention to the screen than the road!

There's a reason why they turn off the screen while in motion. YOU DO GET DISTRACTED!

I am not a sponsor/vendor here anymore but I wanted to chime in
when I saw this thread this morning. You cannot just bypass the vss like in a nissan in this vehicle. The car is M.O.S.T. (media systems oriented transport)
and is much more technical than just vss and parking break sensor bypass.
Most is basically like the vehicles fiber optic system.
