If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Where can I find trunk and wheel winged genesis emblems for 2011 Genesis
V8?
Searched net and ended up going to Ebay to find trunk and wheel winged Genesis emblems. Ordered from Mobis for $99. Add on Ebay said 08+ wheel, trunk and hood emblems. Well, they were 2008 only so wheel emblems will not fit. And the trunk and hood emblems they sent have holes in back to accept screws. Does this mean the trunk emablem is no good for my 2011 either? I thought the stock trunk emblem and the replacement winged emblem were just glued or taped on? Does the 2011 trunk emblem replacement have to be screwed into the trunk?
Anybody want wheel emblems and maybe hood and trunk emblems for 2008 genesis very cheap....like just pay for shipping?

The above ebay site shows the correct wings for hood and trunk, including pictures of how they attach (no screws). You got the wrong stuff.

Actually, the winged emblems on the Ebay site you directed me to look just like the ones I received from Mobis. This Mobis product on Ebay also says it is for 2008-2010. Nothing about a 2011.

There are many other threads on this subject but note that the studs for the hood emblem have to be removed. The existing 3m tape is then used to stick it on. The trunk emblem is used as is - the studs exactly fit into the existing holes in the trunk. I am pretty sure the trunk emblem will fit the 2011.

The post on the rear emblem is for alignment. Need to cut off the post for the front. As long as there is 3M tape on the back of them, they should be the right ones unless they changed the rear alignment holes in the trunk lid for the 2011's.

Ok, thanks for answers re trunk and hood emblems. However I am still stuck with the wheel inserts that will not work on the 2011 18" V8 wheels. I saw somewhere on the owners site that since the 2011 wheels are not sold in Korea that there are no winged emblems available for these new wheels. Is that correct?

Again, I anyone out there wants the 4 wheel emblems I have (I think they are for the coupe or older sedans with 17" wheels....see $99 package sold on Ebay by Mobis) contact me and I will send to you no charge except for shipping.

I just received my emblems and wheel centers from a purchase I made on eBay. It was $250 for everything the wheels centers fit perfect on my 2011 4.6. i love this car, just traded in my Jaguar XJR. :)

You can get the 18" wheel inserts for $198.95 from koreautoworld.com. Part # 52960 3m250. They just pop out and in.

Thank you Homeofstone! I have finally found the answer to how auto parts stores make their oem V8 18" winged caps. I knew it had to be the 17" inserts, but I didn't want to waste money to find out. In your post, you say to heat the oem centers and then transfer the new wings. From the pictures on the site you reference, the back of those caps have 8 clips on the back. Do those simply fit into the wheel hub, or do I have to cut them off and then glue the center into the wheel? I don't take delivery of my 2011 Titanium Gray 4.6 until 12/30/10 so I can't look at the wheels yet. I will be ordering the caps, rear badge and airbag today so I hopefully have them by 12/30

OK, found the wheel inserts on the website you referred me to. Thanks. ALso to 04blackxjr, where did you buy your wheel inserts? And now understand how to put on the trunk emblem.....have no plans to put on the hood emblem...like the stock look.

Just wondering if you've installed the trunk emblem yet. Do the posts on the badge you bought match the holes in the '11 trunk lid?

Thanks.

I have a 2011 and holes match on the wing badge to the trunk.

Heat both oem center cap and the new wing centers with the hair dryer and do the transfer. both the H and wing centers are just a metal kind of cover cap with 3m tape on back. you will be left with the plastic that has the 8 clips after you heat and remove the metal wing cover. Again go slow, it takes a lot of heat.

Yes, I have put on the trunk emblem. No problems although getting the glue off after removing the lazy H is a pain in the butt. But the new winged emblem looks great and the two items that protrude out on the back of the winged emblem fit perfectly into the holes that are already in the trunk.....sticking on the new emblem is easy.

Thanks. I ordered a badge on eBay. Like everything else there, the range of prices for the same product is pretty wide. I went for the cheapest one I could find from a seller with great feedback. From the videos I've seen, it looks like the trickiest part is getting the right "wire" to remove the original badge without breaking and without scratching the paint. People seem to like Goo Gone to get rid of the left-over adhesive.

The best and safest way is to use a strong dental floss. Johnson Johnson
Reach waxed is good. It may break a few times but it will work.
