  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have recently been using an audio Bluetooth adapter for about a week now and have been very happy with the results. It plugs into the audio input and has a small USB cable for power. It turns on and automatically pairs with my phone when I start the car.

It can/does handle call audio, but I have that turned off so I am unable to comment on that. I have not tried dual pairing with it and the car but when I do I will update back.

The device is BT 4.0 with the APT-X audio codec and sounds as good to me as any other direct line input. My 320k MP3's streamed sound just as good as the line in cable. Spotify and Pandora both sound really good with high quality streaming turned on. There is a slight buzz over the audio when not playing anything. If you do not play anything for several minutes the device goes to sleep and it stops buzzing. To me, it is not that annoying. I do not think it is alternator whine as it does not change pitch as RPM's increase. I believe it to be caused by the internal charging circuits. Buzzing goes away 100% once audio starts streaming. My only real audio complaint is I can not enable "Surround" using the line in.

Overall I am very happy that I finally found something that allows BT audio without having to mess with and that starts & pairs automatically. This being one of the few complaints I have with the car. I have linked to the device below.

Also some questions: Does it have a settings page to turn off call answering? And do you keep it plugged into the USB port at all times?

I do the exact same thing. I didn't need it, but try a ground loop cable to get rid of the buzz. And an Android phone, at least, can open two bluetooth connections at the same time. So, my phone connects to both my Genesis and my BT audio adapter at the same time. There are check boxes in the BT setup for each connector as to which is to do phone and contacts, and which is to do audio. You'll want to double-check those.

My phone (Android) has the ability to turn specific feature sets off. I do have mine so that this device only gets media audio. I did set it up and connect to both the car and the device. It connects, answers calls, and switches between music and phone just fine. The only problem I have is that when both are connected, the media audio hiccups several times a minute. It could be due to my custom ROM and/or kernel on the phone. Figured I would mention it. Audio still sounds great. I keep it plugged into the USB port and when I start the car it pairs and plays my last music app automatically. It shuts itself off when the car does also. The device claims 10 hours of battery, and I tested it on a shop radio this weekend and got 7-8 hours.

I could not be happier with this little bastard

I was impressed with the audio quality also. Much better than the BT setup I had in my Accord. (PIE adapter thru the satellite input.) I also like the fact that I can plug it into my garage radio and it is self powered. The auto on/off feature is second only to the audio quality. Put it in the console and forget it!
