  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Had the painted section of the grille, obviously did not cover chrome section, painted with a matte black paint that was the same as the paint in the center of the lower part of grille. Also totally de-badged trunk, had holes filled from where the "H" was removed, painted the trunk lid as well as the chrome plastic strip on the trunk. Mental illness is a terrible thing!!!

The grill looks good :) How much would it cost a painter to do the grill like that usually?

I'd guess $200-300 just for the grille. It has to be removed from the car, the painted area scuffed up and prepared and I'd wager the masking is a total pain.

Looks good. I had mine painted long ago, and now when I see pics of Genesis' I think it looks a little Generic with a Silver grill on the car (unless your the car is silver) Mine's Black Noir to match the factory spec.

I like the grill treatment - it looks sharp. I can't tell about the trunk from such a short distance. Do you have a longer shot? As a general rule, I've always preferred the debadged look, going back to the '50s. OTOH, I like the rear wings on the Genesis

DG,
I'll get a longer shot from both ends and in the sunlight too.
Thanks

Don't think I care for the trunk... looks quite bland to me. Agree that maybe a longer shot will look better in full context

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The completely de-badged rear-end gives me the willies. There is something that is just not right about it. Reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode when the little boy with omnipotent powers got mad at his sister, and then she had no mouth.

Bob,
It was done by a body shop so I don't know the particulars of how it was done. I'd wager the grille was removed to allow all the prep, masking and painting to be done.
Thanks

Looks good, but I like the grill accents painted the same color as the body.

the r-spec looks mean. i have yet to paint my grill on my 2009 4.6. looks great!

Wheels are an improvement- but i'd leave the nameplates

I truly appreciate the fact that you save so much money on these cars that you can easily justify any aftermarket tweaks to the car to the 'spousal unit' :)

What, no chrome on the lower side trim? I've been thinking of doing that.

Sounds like a good deal, as long as you actually receive the grill from these guys. Although, I believe someone on here reported that the grill didn't have the best paint/tape job, but for $95 maybe it's worth it.

I paid $250 to have mine done. There is hours just into taping this grill prior to applying paint. You can view photos in my photo album.

LMAO! OMG I seen that episode what a head trip! Wasn't the kid with red hair (Bill Mumy), in the series "Lost In Space"? Link below if you wanna get creeped out again for free haha:
PS: To note on this thread I think the painted grill makes it unique, but personnally I like the badges on the back IMHO.
