  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I start my car sometimes the Genesis logo shows for a while on the screen, and other times it almost immediately goes to the audio screen. I read in another thread that if the car is not stopped for long it will stay in a standby mode so it boots much quicker than if it has been sitting for a while. I found this not to be the case since sometimes after only a few minutes of being off the Genesis logo will show and the boot process is much longer. Other times the car has been sitting for an hour or more and it boots very quickly. Does anyone have any insight on this issue?

Has anyone experienced anything similar to what I described? I have to bring the car in soon for condensation in the tail light so I will see what they have to say and post the outcome.

As I have said another threads, I think this relates to the Bluetooth connection at start-up. Assuming you are connecting automatically to Bluetooth, turn that BT feature off and see if there is any difference with your Genesis splash screen operation.

Are you referring to the Auto Connection Priority setting under Bluetooth settings? Thanks for your help!

No, I'm just suggesting to unpair your Bluetooth for a day or two and see if there is a difference.

No idea what causes it, but yes: I too have noticed that sometimes it stays on genesis screen and sometimes it goes to last destinations rapidly.

I unpaired my phone and deleted it from the car as you suggested. I am still having the same issue so it does not appear to be related to the Bluetooth connection. I am bringing to the dealer soon so I will let you know what they say.

I do not think this is a problem. What I have noticed is the system boots up in the background if you get in the car with the remote but do not start it. If you start the car after say 10 seconds or so, the stereo/nav come right on.

The inconsistency is the issue. Sometimes it boots immediately and other times it sits on the Genesis logo. This happens when immediately starting the car after entering.

I've had mine have no sound for 1-2 minutes after startup a few times too - then it "snaps out of it". Strange!

Haven't tried but if we physically turn off the audio/infotainment system before shutting the engine off perhaps the screen saver will appear until you physically turn the infotainment system back on?
I know that when I park the car I just push the start/stop button and leave. I don't worry about the infotainment system staying on because the radio 'goes off' when the driver door is opened with the engine off and resumes once the engine is restarted when I return.

I think this is a non-issue. I think it is like any computer. If it gets shut down incorrectly, it will take longer to re-boot. Maybe go through the motions noted above. Prior to shutting off the car, turn off the system then turn off the car. When you get back in the car, turn on the system (if required - not sure if it automatically boots up or not) and see how long it takes. Do this two or three times to see if it repeats within the same time frame. If so, the it is a non-issue. Just a thought...

After observing this behavior for several months, I've concluded that when the car detects the key within range, it starts "booting up the electronics".

Thus, if you walk up and get in leisurely, the car will be ready.

If you walk up quickly and jump in, it will take a little while.

But, if you stop and take a break, it decides you weren't serious, and turns off to save the battery. Thus, it takes a long while when you decide to start since it didn't get any head start.

I am constantly in an out of my office during the day, and each time I leave and enter my car at the same pace and start it the same way it produces different results. Sometimes it immediately boots to sat radio, which is where the car is left when shutting off the engine, and other times it boots to the Genesis logo. The time that it sits on the Genesis logo also varies from very short to quite some time. This is the inconsistency that is the issue. I have owned multiple Infinitis and an Acura with smart keys over the years and they all booted the same way each time I entered the car. This car is definitely inconsistent for some unknown reason.

I leave my key in my cup holder when the car is in my garage. When I get in the car and press the start button the car displays the 'sign in' screen. After hitting 'agree' the car goes to its split [audio/nav] screen. On very rare occasions I get to see the Genesis logo but I still don't know how that happened. When it does happen the screen only holds the Genesis logo for a second. I did manage to get a large analog clock to appear once but I have no idea what I did to have that pop up.

My boot time and sequence varies also , but it seems to be normal. However, I haven't noticed it changing sources during the boot-up - it boots with the same media as it shuts down with.

Same here. If I am playing a CD, when I restart the car next time, it is right where I left off.

That's true for most inputs EXCEPT the iPhone - it annoylingy reverts back the the first song alphabetically on that input with each restart...

Hold the volume button in for about 10 seconds and the digital clock will appear. After that you just need to touch the volume button to have it reappear.:welcome:
