If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Recall/Free Tire Replacement???

9db reduction in noise over their standard tire is a big amount. 3db is minimum difference a person can typically hear. In audio world, takes double the power for each 3db. IF these are 9 db quieter than say Hankooks, that will be noticeable. Imagine that the Genny noise level rated by Car and Driver is around 67db at 60 or 70mph, that puts the car at unde 60db at speed.. Now, depends on how Conti measure the sound. If it is "net" inside the car reduction, this will be huge.. If it is measured from outside, the affect will be lower "net" sound pressure reduction inside. Because the car itself already reduces whatever sound from outside the tires make. They are very vague on the claims. And the tech sheet does not have specs, only safety, storage and shipping info. Still looking for a real data sheet with measurements, tread depth, and whatnot. No matter what, I bet we will be able to hear the difference. The Genny is great at taking out wind, and other car/truck sounds, about the only thing that gets through is tire noise. Reduce that by this much, should be easy to hear. A lower sound level.

I took my car in for service yesterday and I'm getting new tires. They did not have the tires in stock (he showed me that they are Michelins). He said that once the tires were in , he would do the tires and tail lamp. It actually is working out decently for me as the Hankooks have been fine and I got 20K out of them so I'm pretty happy. More of a free set than a replacement set for me.

Did you get a letter from Hyundai or was the dealer able to confirm your eligibility?

Hyundai told me I wasn't eligible but others here have said they were told all 2015 Genesis will get new tires.

If the old tires have nitrogen, will they fill the new ones with nitrogen?

I didn't get a letter about the tires, just the tail lamp. I only came in for an oil change, tire rotation and the lamp fix. My dealer was the one who pulled me aside and told me that there was a recall for the tires and that they needed to order them.

I have a 3.8 Genisis, I have tail light Recall, Just wondering IF i'll get a tire recall? or will I have to go "duke" it out with Hydundai?

Which dealer? I use Rick Case in Roswell and they had no idea about this just two weeks ago

Going off subject, please don't behead me. I don't hear much noise from these Hankooks. But I do hear an obnoxious rattle from under the front end that sounds like what a broken or loose shock used to sound like. Dealership says it is the plastic cladding under the car and cant fix it. It is driving me nuts!! Anybody else hear that?

No - I hear no such thing and I can't see any reason it couldn't be fixed. Give Hyundai a call if the dealer won't step up.

Going in tomorrow to have my XM reception looked into and checked.

Contacted Hyundai Care today about the tail light water issue recall and the replacement tire issue. I was told that my 2015 Genesis was covered on both "recalls". Called the dealer, they checked and agree that my Genesis would be getting both done.

I'm putting off the tires until after a planned trip out West. I might as well get some extra miles out of the Hankooks. :D

Another lazy service writer. Or worse... Roadblock writer who is used to block things like this. Because Hyundai would maybe pay an hour to fix it, and cost more in paperwork to get that reimbursement. Beside, way too many service writers view customers as the sheep. That they are the thin blue line from chaos instead of order. Whatever the reason, that dealer needs to go to the woodshed.

Got my tire recall letter yesterday so I now have both it and the tail lamp letter and will make an appointment soon to have both taken care of.

My letter for tire replacement came today as well. Looks like these Michelin MXM4 tires are H-rated so I guess my speed runs down I-85 will be a lot slower. :) Looking around at ratings, they seem like a really good tire though a lot of people weren't impressed with them in snow. Wouldn't be an issue here in the ATL as we barely get snow and I stay off the road if there is.

Hmmm, so they are going to lop off 20 mph off of the already set 150mph maximum speed. Not that we are going to need this extra 20 but my question is why? The car is capable and designed to for this speed but the tires now become the limiting factor. Guess all newer models with Michelins will be cut to 130mph from the factory now. Good news is the replacement Contis on the V8 are W rated so no fiddling with top speed is required.

Looks like there may be a V and an H version. Have no idea what we are getting. Do not plan to slow down, but then I wasn't going faster than 130 mph anyway.

Makes no sense? Why not replace with tires that match the car's capabilities versus reprogramming the car for a lesser tire??? I'm not going to let this happen to mine. The Hankooks are great tires - I don't have any real issues that would make me want to switch unless they replaced with an equivalent performing tire - which they are clearly not doing. Hyundai is not being transparent on the reason for changing imho.

It sucks but only in principal. I simply can't find any reason (or place for that matter) that I would ever need to go that fast. With 20K miles on our Genesis, free tires means a hell of lot more to me than getting to a speed I would never drive at. If we were talking about a sports car I would take to the track, I'd still take the freebies and buy a set of track tires.
