• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone using window rain guards?

Did a quick search on the forum and didn't see anything. Did a quick google search and found these
http://www.carid.com/2015-hyundai-genesis-deflectors/

Looking for suggestions for what stay in place and look good.

Not possible - all rain guards look terrible (to me, at least). I don't understand the need for these ugly trim pieces? Why would one need to have their windows cracked open in the rain?

I would buy and install these if it would ever rain on a regular basis again. Last rain was about .25" and that was 42 days ago!

I have them on my truck since we travel with pets and I can leave windows invisibly cracked when we stop if the weather is suitable. I put up with them on the truck despite the wind noise they create. I would not want them on the Genesis for noise reasons, let alone the looks.

Also a smokers add on. Postpones various lung diseases a few weeks. :)

Im a cigar guy and like to have one on the way to or back from golf. But if its open at all the door gets crushed with rain.

Came back from lunch. Parked car on surface lot. Bright sunshine. Look at weather <20% chance of rain. Cracked windows because its so hot. Inside working away and co worker says its pouring outside. Run outside with a handful of napkins to clean water off everything. Cuss, wish I had vent guards! Argh!

Download "Dark Sky" app (on iPhone). Monitors local weather and will alert you up to an hour ahead of any rain or snow. Used it when I had a convertible and saved my interior on many occasions from passing rain showers.

Ok - that's a good reason- thx!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
That's not a good reason - not only will your car not look good, it will stink! :)

So I will take it as that nobody has ever bought rain guards. Instead of answering my inquiry we are just going to tell me how bad it is to have them.

Thanks

I'm in complete agreement. They look awful on every car. Why would you open your windows in the rain? All I can think of is smoking or farting. If you're smoking in your car, you may as well just give up on having a nice car. If it's farting, vent the sunroof for a minute.

Don't worry. With farting your CO2 sensor will kick in and help disipate the stank. 😜

nope - farts are CH4 (methane). You'll choke if waiting for the CO2 sensor to save you...:D

The fact that you did a "Did a quick search on the forum and didn't see anything" means that most here likely don't use these (just like the ugly, dirt-trapping plastic sunroof wind deflectors that I usually see on cars with rain guards :)).

No offense intended in the responses - just voicing opinions as is the norm on internet forums. Maybe someone will chime in with real experience, but your best bet is likely the reviews on the sites that sell those things or to make sure you buy from a site with a liberal return policy in case you don't like what you get.

There are two different styles. One is attached with double sided tape. They look added on. I have Weatherteck on my car and truck. They look factory and are a optical grade of material. Being in Florida it is nice to be able to open the windows a little bit to help with the heat build up in the car. Also with my tinted windows you do not hardly see them.

True story. And those who like to share can turn on the vented seats and circulate it for everyone to enjoy.

and IMHO rain guards are ugly and ruin the gorgeous design of the Genny.

Thanks. I had some on my 4runner that just slid in and were clear so they werent very noticeable. Ill look at weathertech.
