  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone kindly guide me as to how I would take apart the center consul to get access to the airbag computer ?

I purchased a car from the auction with light damage I need to replace the computer.

Wish I had the service manual if anyone has it and would care to share or at least the excerpt from that section.

Thanks!! Can't wait to get this thing driving again. I loved my old r spec but the interior on this is amazing!

I don't know the answer to your question, but it will probably be worthwhile to you to buy a service manual. I don't think they are that expensive.

I agree since the SM will show you all the places and types of clips on each part and often how to release them w/o damaging things. I sure would not be depending on directions in a post to be complete or even really accurate on the proper way to do this.

I have a SM, but it's too cumbersome, overly time consuming, and hard to try and repeat the details here in a post.

Do we have access to a PDF SM via the forums? Couldn't really find anything

You can go to this site and sign up then pay for x amount of weeks access to the service manuals. You can even download the information you need.

There used to be a link on here to the factory service manual... no idea where it went.

I sent U a manual by "securely send". (large file transfers)

If you retrieve it successfully, pdf manuals are best used with a word search using "CTRL F".

Sometimes they are useful - sometimes not at all.

^^^^ Looks like he took care of you. And everything he said is true. I'm having my steering wheel thickened and taking off the airbag was a big PITA! The manual was no help.

+1 on the airbag. Much harder than I thought and the manual didn't help much at all.

the only issue is that i have heard it is nowehere close to being detailed;; im curious if anyone has an excerpt from it to see what info and details it provides in regards to doing a service on a vehicle or even wiring diagrams

I'll try again - your email address is a little different now - less spaces.
P.s. the manual at p. 975 or thereabouts does relate how to dismantle the console, but I think I'd rather have a prostate operation.
