  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 5.0 Need New Tires

From my experience with Hankook , watch out for sidewall failure...

Yep, I've got a blister one on of them already. Impossible to balance

I just picked up some Cooper Zeon RS3-G1's, really only cuz they were on clearance at $100/tire. Haven't really tried them out yet but they had decent reviews for my traction needs.

No $hit? My Inpala is going to need some tires soon...maybe I will give them a shot! 👍
They seem to be a very popular tire right now. Hope that doesn't drive the price up.

I bought my car last November, can't believe it's already been 9 months. Only 4500 mi due to COVID19, at this rate it could be 8 years before I need tires!

NTB?

The time does go by fast TinsleyC, I also can't believe I had my Genny for as long as I have . I am so happy to own such a fine Automobile.. We here in SD have not experienced the COVID stuff like you and others round the country have. Stay safe!🙂

Well... Now you have Sturgis - no one's following best practices there!

I advise against Yokohoma Advan Sport A/S+. Had used Yoko's for years, without issue on other vehicles. Put them on the Genny. The rears were worn out in 10K miles. It claimed to be a 55000 mile tire. Just replaced under warranty/rebate with Nitto Motivo. We'll see...

First time here, hello
I've never been happy with the ride of my 2015 5.0, it's time for tires and I'm hoping this will be a chance to improve it. I understand that the OE called for a staggered set of tires. I would welcome all suggestions for the best tire to put on this time- everything is stock I have not modified rims or anything else.
I have some Falken Azenis FK510 summer tires installed on my 2015 5.0. These tires have my large sedan handling like a smaller sport sedan half its size. They are very good on wet roads as well with no hydroplaning, while handling perfectly on dry roads. No complaints from me.

However, they are not good for owners who will need a set of tires for all seasons. They are not to be driven in 40F and below temps. I usually just drive my SUV in the winter so no big deal to me, but it could be a problem for single car owners who do not want to swap tires in the winter.

Run Michelins on mine - very happy

Good to know. They had been on my list as well. I had used them with out issue on my old Infiniti G sedan & it had a staggered setup from the factory. That thing was tail happy AF, but I never noticed any unusual wear...

I tried Michelins on my 2015 5.0. Hated them. So NOISY at some speeds you couldn't talk to your passenger. Replaced them after just a couple thousand miles with Conti Extreme Contact DWS. Love 'em!! Much better tire IMHO. Handling is good, ride is good, and MUCH quieter. When I wear these out I'll buy them again.

I also like the Conti,DWS 06 I think they are a good all weather tire.

I'll put in another plug for the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06. They're good for wet and dry traction (I haven't driven on them in snow), quiet, and have decent treadwear. They're a little stiffer than the ProContact TX (current OEM tire that replaced the original Hankooks due to flat spotting), but not harsh or jarring. To me, the DWS06 are well-suited to this large, luxurious, slightly sporty car. I think I may have had one sidewall bubble caused by hitting a large pothole at speed, but I can't really remember.

I recommend avoiding the Continental ProContact TX. I had a couple of sidewall bubbles and at least one blowout on those due to relatively small potholes, and I've heard other users have had similar complaints. They were also a lot softer than the original Hankooks they replaced. I don't drive aggressively, but even I found them to be too soft in regular cornering (mostly on winding country roads).

I dont have any experience with the pro contacts. I would not use them for the simple fact the weight rating is a little lower than the extreme contacts
.
