  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your new Genesis GV70?

Thanks for the great info in this forum. I am frustrated. Trying to buy a GV70 Advance, local dealer (Tulsa, OK area) quoted 7995 over price on sticker (plus taxes, etc.) for any GV70. GV80 were 8995 over MSRP. I really like the GV70 but, maybe its principal, not going to pay 15% markup of sticker (in this case about $52K). Any thoughts or suggestions on Midwest dealers who might be more reasonable. I understand MSRP might be a pipe dream these days, but this is crazy. BMW x3 was list price at dealership across the street. I don't like the X3 as well, but, its quite a bit less expensive. Thanks for any advice!
Try this Madison Wisconsin dealer:

They currently have little inventory, but members from the Chicago area are recently buying here and being told MSRP, and no shady add ons. I have no idea on wait time, but calling should get you some information.

I ordered from this dealer last week and was told 3-6 months. He also mentioned that Hyundai/Genesis take in orders once a month so depending on when you submit it there might be a delay of up to 30 days. With this particular dealer, the orders are received on the second Wednesday of every month.

Thanks for all the advice in this forum. Just purchased a Gv70 from genesis of Wichita (Kanas) for Msrp. 395 doc fee and they are shipping to me.

I was struggling with the same here in Florida. But then, the 8th dealership I came across was a match. They sold to me at regular sticker, with no add-ons. It was a very fair and easy deal. Like you, I simply refused to pay over MSRP. IMHO - Genesis should find some way to reward and incentivize the dealers who VALUE their customers, and demote the dealers who are gouging.

Hey, also try the Genesis Concierge. I called and emailed them, and they helped locate what I was looking for.

What exactly does Genesis Concierge do. I knew they could find a match car, but hard to believe they shop for price for you.

They help find inventory, and put you in touch with dealers who might have what you're looking for. But they'll clearly say that they do not get involved in price. In my situation, it took 8 different dealers until I found one with exactly what I wanted, and who was willing to simply price at sticker. The Concierge helped me find them.

Genesis North Plainfleld NJ is doing MSRP ~400 doc fee. Stock is low/non-existant though and not sure if doing online.

Genesis Denville (Towne Hyundai) has no stock and the next 3 incoming with deposits already. Not sure if they were doing MSRP but other people in this thread has reported as such.

Genesis South Plainfield has 4 sport prestige 2.5s on lot but doing +5k msrp on all their gv70s.

Hello, I looked through this thread and couldn't find any information on Houston, TX area dealers and if they are selling GV70 at MSRP or are they marking them up in the area as well? Also if you "reserve" one how long would someone wait to get a GV70 in the Houston area? Thanks in advance to someone who might point me in the right direction

I would suggesting contacting a few of them and asking the question directly. Don't be afraid to add one or two dealers outside of the Houston area if the prices come back higher than list. Of course, please post results to help others....

MSRP -$500 for veterans discount offered by Hyundai. But some in the area were asking 5k over MSRP due to COVID!!!

I know that Genesis in Conroe is currently asking $8k over MSRP. Conversely, Genesis Round Rock (near Austin) is offering to order GV70s at MSRP without any dealer extras.

My local Chevrolet Dealer gets 5K over sticker on a Truck. Covid, or chip shortage, or whatever excuse they give is a scenario for profit. Consumers are at a disadvantage for now unless you get lucky, good luck.

I visited two dealerships in NY. After I refused to place an order WITHOUT an order form signed by both parties with the specs I requested, the first told me that orders could no longer be made because production of the GV70 was halted. Incredulous, I called concierge to confirm this was not true.

At the second dealership in Bayside, I had a great experience with sales manager, Joel Cohen, who put in an order for 2022 GV70 2.5 Advanced Cardiff/Beige at MSRP. I'm told delivery time is a minimum of 4-6 months. Order form signed by both parties and 1k deposit. Seeing too many people saying their dealer "verbally" agreed on price and specs, which is a known dealer trick to renegotiate once car arrives (sometimes in different colors or with add ons you don't want).

I think if you read this thread people, including me, are finding GV70s at MSRP, but it takes some work. My initial offer from a local dealer was MSRP +7995 and they wouldn't budge off that number. Some emails and calls, and I found a car. Now, I need to pay 350 to ship it 200 miles, but still a bargain.

I just picked up one from Genesis of North Plainfield, payed MSRP plus $399 Doc fee & $299 window etched.
I did not fight to get the $299 removed, based on the fact they've built out a new store just for Genesis.
The vin was in the 515** number range, never looked at the build date.
