Getting ready to head tomorrow to Chicago to celebrate our 30 Anniversary. My wife asked asked me this morning to pick up some of the great doughnuts in a the town about 10 miles from where we live. I Even though it was quite windy and and snowing a little bit I decided to take the back roads because our car is G80 Sport with H Track and I have top of the line Pirelli snow tires on it.
So any way there I am cruising along between 35 and 40 in a 35 zone when BANG/BANG! Oh heck I hit probably hit a pothole. Maybe it wasn't so bad, I should be ok. Damn, red lights on the dash. Oh look the tire pressure screen just came up all by itself. And the right side tire are in red, and they read 0 psi in front and 8 in the rear!. Now the tire page shows no reading at all. So I pull into a convenient gas station and take a look.
Damn, both passenger side tires are blown! #^*(^%$@(^%##@! Anyway I called Genesis roadside assistance and some Indian fellow promised to get me a flat bed set out that would take my car to the nearest (not mine) Genesis dealer. 20 minutes later I got a call saying that a local tow shop was dispatching a flat bed and it would arrive in about 1 hour. Amazingly enough it arrived more or less on time. The driver pulled the car onto the flat bed. I then shtupped him to swing by my house to pick up my OEM all season tires. I have been in touch with the dealer where the car went. They close at 3 PM. I have offered to shtupp any mechanic willing to stay late and replace my tires (assuming no wheel / suspension damage). They said they would try.
So here I sit waiting to see what happens...
