  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New wheels and lowered on ARK coilovers, Auto Couture Agress 20"

I actually saw this on the road heading to ARK. I was in my S2K and saw this Beast pull up next to me. First I was thinking MR2ENVi wanted to race not knowing it was him. Then I realized O shit its a genesis and I have seen it before, when he came down to ARK for some Sedan Coilovers. I was scanning for a while, checking out the drop, the negative camber, and how it dampened on the FWY. I couldnt have done a better job myself. Truly looks VIP. I can honestly say that its one of the cleanest Genesis Sedans.

Btw. Your Quad tips are HOT. Looks liek the made it from the Factory.

Yes I was on my way picking up headlights for my gf's lexus. I remember your car because of the ARK sticker. I tried to get your attention by flick my e-lights. I'm happy with the coilovers. Ride quality was not vastly effected. One problem though, since the coilovers is bottom mounted to the wheelweld, there is no way to adjust the dampening once mounted. I had it in the middle 8 setting and I guess this will be the set up I'm going to stuck with. I wished that it has a seperate reservor to adjust the dampening. It defeat the purpose of adjustablility when it is not really adjustable once mounted. I was not going to remove the coilovers just to adjust it, too much effort. Oh yeah my exhaust tips are from a porsche 997 S. I had my stock tips chopped off and slipped these on. They fit perfectly. I did not want aftermarket exhaust because I want the noise level to stay stock.

I believe the Hex that we have provided you will give you the clearance of adjusting your coilovers.

Nope, that won't work for the Genesis Sedan. The rear is not possible to reach the knobs once the suspension is mounted. The fronts have about 1/3" clearance between the knob and the top of the wheel welds.

With all the money spent on wheels and suspension, why not run wider tires? Though I havent done it, I'm sure you can massage the rear wells and arches to fit beefier meat.

Stretched tires belong on GTI's, doesnt look right on your car.

wow looks very nice, i was planning to do the same with my genesis.

I just wish I could run wider tires, It is already rubbing over large bumps. Yes Euro popularize the stretch looks but so does Japanese VIP cars.

11 by +27 is super aggressive, and kudos to you for attempting to stuff that much rim under the genesis.

Anyways, VIP cars also run very aggressive alignment settings and fender treatment to stuff more meat under there. From the rear profile, it looks like you can backout some more camber on that badboy.

But anyways, where and what are you rubbing against? I'm considering reseating my HRE's for the Genesis but cautious due to space constraints.

Oh, and you really need a wald-type kit to finish off your VIP look. Anyone offer anything decent yet?

The camber is all natural from being lowered. At stock height, the wheels already looks cambered so once the car is lowered, it looks worst. The outter sidewall is rubbing against the quarter panel/fender if I have passenger in the car over large bump at freeway speed. I have about 1/2" of space on the inner sides before rubbing against the struts.

I wish there is a decent looking kit out there for the genesis. There is only one and it doesn't look all that much different than stock. I'm waiting on something more decent.

can't roll the fenders? It will look hellaflush.

your car looks awesome man, I have to say though you need to drop it another inch or two, to get true VIP. hehe, and some rear curtains.

I love the drop! I had no idea coilovers were available for the Genesis sedan... any others besides ARK out there?

Car looks great - I love Euro mods but the stretched tires don't really fit in as well here.. to each his own!

I'm trying to do more of a VIP japanese looks to it. Notice the type of wheels I got. These are classic VIP dish type wheels.

You're off to a good start but you'll need a lot more of a drop to get that VIP look. That much tire stretch with not enough low just looks awkward. I'd really really love to see this dumped on these coilovers. Great wheels too btw.

Not sold on the Stretched tire look...but nice upgrade on the wheels. What about tire/road noise with this set-up?

I finally found a true set of wheels that I would likely to stick with for a long time. Unfortunately, this morning I ran over a large piece of metal and scrape the left side of my car pretty bad (mostly the front bumper). I won't be able to do a full photoshoot until my car is back from the bodyshop. I'll drop the car off on Monday to the bodyshop hopefully.

What/where did yo get the exhaust tips?

996 and 997 Carrera S exhaust tips from ebay.

Those are porsche 997 S exhaust tips. They fit perfectly after the stock tips removed. I'm thinking of replacing them with slightly larger aftermarket porsche tips.
I see 997/997S tips from Evolution Motorsports on eBay for $349 - is this where you purchased? What is involved in installing them? I recall reading elsewhere on genesisowners.com that there isn't much pipe left after you cut off the stock tips.
