  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Traded for a Palisade

Agreed - I haven't found any manufacturer that includes as many features as Hyundai/Kia for a reasonable price. I probably would have gone with a Sorento or Telluride if I could have found one that didn't have a ridiculous market adjustment (Tellurides here in Canada are as much as $20K over MSRP!) To factory order, they were 12-18 months out so I ordered a GV70 instead at less than the cost of a Telluride with a markup and I got it in just over 3 months.

Honestly, I wish the GV70 were bigger - just a bit. The back seat leg room is not sufficient - period. I hope they look at that in years to come. I've been in smaller SUVs with more leg room than this. Squeezing into the back seat and bumping your knees on the seat does not scream "luxury"!

Last month my wife, son, and daughter-in-law and I were planning a vacation 600 miles away and I was looking forward to driving my GV70. I did like to drive it. The week before we were to leave we went out to dinner, and they sat in my backseat. Because of that experience we ended up taking their Toyota Venza on our vacation! It had much more backseat legroom. That was the tipping point! I started looking for another car and found my Pally.

Curious if anyone who wants a bigger SUV has thought of going with any of the luxury brands? BMW X7, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS?
Been there, done that...3 years ago we traded in our 2013 MB GL350 full size, 3 row SUV.
Altho it was a very nice vehicle, anytime I took it to the dealer for something it was a $1,000 bill of more. So we decided to trade up for a newer vehicle. After trying out the Lincoln Aviator and Cadillac XT6, we decided on the new, 2020 Palisade Ultimate (now Calligraphy) and besides, it was $20K less. It has been a wonderful vehicle and I highly recommend it.
In fact I am so impressed with the Palisade that I am seriously considering selling our 2nd MB vehicle, a 2018 MB GLC43 AMG and purchasing another Hyundai related product, the soon to be released GV70 electric.

The GLC was one of the vehicles I've considered and test drove when shopping for my last 2 vehicles. Very nice but a bit too expensive for me at the time. GLC43 is the competitor to the 3.5GV. How has it been for you in the last 4 years in terms of reliability and cost of maintenance etc? Sounds like you may be getting out of the MB line up.

It has been very reliable and for the most part trouble-free. While under warranty the dealer replaced the battery and an XM radio component. That is all. Because I am retired and the fact it is our 2nd vehicle, it only has about 34,000 km so it has only needed to be serviced annually. The scheduled maintenance service, including oil change has run about $300 - $400 CAN.
I am hoping to be able to order the GV70 electric soon. We live in southern BC, Canada and according to the Genesis.ca web-site and local dealer, I think we will be order soon. When that happens, I will be selling the GLC43. If interested, you could PM me.
