  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

Well, I got my Charger installed today. Now I'm anxiously waiting to get the vehicle to try it out. Hopefully soon. I purchased the GRIZZL-E EV Charger. They are made in Canada and came highly recommended by my Genesis dealer.
Has there been any further update on the car's ETA? I drove some friends to the airport tonight in the GV80, and they asked if my car is an EV because it's so quiet. I can't even begin to describe how much I wish I already had my EV!! The wait is killing me.

That’s the unit I went with. No complaints. It’s a very solid and simple unit.

I was at my dealer today and "it is still at sea". They had about 4 others at the dealership now, so they are arriving.
"Sebringsilver", I tried to send you a message, but I'm not sure just how it works or if you got it.

Thanks, I did get it. It doesn't allow me to reply unfortunately. In any case, I appreciate the heads up. I'm going to wait for the one I ordered (Makalu Gray on Black) as it'll be the 4th Genesis I've purchased from this same dealer over the past 2 years (with a 5th soon to be ordered!), and I've established a really good relationship with the folks there.

Thanks again though!

The black is great. Good quality leather. And I like the grey piping. Build date of February and ordered in February.
Please post interior pics real soon of the seats and the 12.3" display. Are the front seats all Nappa leather including the bottom front cushions? I'm assuming you got the highest package model. Was yours made in Korea or Alabama?

There’s only one trim level in Canada

All cars sold in Canada are built in Korea. All cars sold in the US are built in Alabama.

To Ron G,
I also have a Mercedes GLC 43AMG (2017) that I just sold and replacing it with a GV70ev, Prestige, Makalu Grey gloss, White Int. Having to fly down to LA from the Bay Area this coming Friday to get one, the only one I could find in CA and at MSRP. Also have a Kia EV6, liked it so much
that the Genesis will complete the all electric fleet.

Palm Springs? I did the same thing. Great buying experience. MSRP, no addons. Texted the sales rep on Thursday, flew down Saturday, and drove it back.

Quickest way to get tired of a new car is to drive it 400 miles on the first day. It's my wife's car though, and she loves it. Only problem is that I had some minor shipping damage on my front bumper lip. The local Genesis service department is ordering the part right now and it'll get replaced when it arrives.

Also, my modem stopping working for a bit until I reset the console. Hopefully it's not a recurring issue.

Otherwise, it's great. I also got paint protection film over the front, ceramic coating, and some light window tinting.

Now at #104. Still some ways to go.

Taking delivery today, Himalayan Gray with the white interior. Would have preferred the Saville gray, but did not want to wait. Wife told me a slob should never get a white interior, we shall see how it holds up.

Contacted Tux Mats and was told the proper mats are still months away. I can wait for the front and rear, but want to get something for the trunk, any recommendations? Also any have the Emporia charger?

Whereabouts are you located?

I ordered the Phantom mats through Costco. They’re made by tuxedo. The front mats fit perfectly. The back mats have a bit of a hump but we sell them have people in the backseat anyway. Enjoy the new car.

Has anyone here tested the charging times on a 100kwh charger? That’s all we have in our area and wondering how long to charge. The only long haul driving I really do is about 300km over the mountains. I don’t think this car will get there mid winter on one charge.

Lots of chargers on route. But just wondering approximate times.

what are the real world range results? I ordered about 3 weeks ago. But having some anxiety about the decision.

I'm hoping to have answers to questions like yours very soon!

I have had my car less than a week, and waiting for a level 2 charger to be delivered. I have charged my car three times at a level 3 charger, charge rate is supposed to be between 62 to 125 kilowatts. My speeds were between 25 and 80, took approximately 30 minutes to go from 20% to 80%. YMMV.

I took a road trip this weekend and looked up the mileage. It was approximately 125 km each way and I had 320 km on the battery. I figured I was fine, but what I found out, is the faster you go the more battery you use. Towards the end I slowed and actually drove the speed limit to preserve some battery. Car is so quiet sometimes you do not realize how fast you are actually going. Needless to say I made it back to the charger with the about 4 km to spare.

Plug your route into www.abetterrouteplanner.com and it will show you where to charge and how long the charging and the trip will take.

I’ve been playing around with how to get the hardest launch.
- sport mode
- traction/stability control off - hold the button for ~5 seconds
- make sure auto hold isn’t on
- boost button
- mash the accelerator
- tires squeal for about 3-4 seconds on dry and warm asphalt

This is my seat of the pants observation, but it’s at the point where going any faster up to about 60 kmh is grip limited. Be curious to see what the results would be using the same technique on a drag surface.

Just turned 2000 km on the clock and couldn’t be happier, although the auto lane change function has us scratching our heads.

During this super annoying wait period for the car to arrive, I've watched virtually every YouTube video on the electric GV70. Seems like every channel that actually bothers to record acceleration times themselves is getting 0-60 right around 3.75 to 3.8 seconds using Boost mode. With better tires I'm sure that number will come down.

Anyone lease their GV70E? I'm in the U.S. and considering leasing and wondering if the residual value I was offered -- 48% after 36 months -- is a good one?

Got mine Thursday (Matte Makalu with full PPF, white interior), amazed with it. I've been gentle with it, went with ECO mode and i-Pedal mode, after last charge the car was stating a range of 400km.

I did try Boost mode as well and got a "Don't ever touch that button again!" from my wife so that's the best button there is! 🤣20230526_190209.webp20230525_114818.webp20230525_211953.webp
