Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Same here. This morning I got in my car, and it was as if my driver profile was never set up. Had to reset everything-driver assist, Bluetooth, audio settings, map settings, time settings etc. What gives?

Glad to see I haven't been the only one with this issue today. Was driving and user 1 wiped, defaulted to first drive mode.

Strangest thing happened today. Was driving and music stopped and screen said resetting to factory defaults. I had to then go through setup and reset everything (profile, fingerprints, etc…).

Main batter is at 64% and 12-volt battery was reading 14.8. Volts at the time.

Anyone else experience this?

Dumb question here…. how do you see the 12 volt reading? Also, my car went back to factory settings for me too. The second driver profile was not impacted.

Me too! I actually lost everything and it wants me to do a first time setup. What happened?

Same thing here. Driving home from hardware store and got a prompt to set driver 1 profile. Lost Bluetooth connection and all my saved Navigation data.

I assume this due an automatic update from Genesis.

Hello, everyone:

This morning I experienced something strange on my 2023 G90, purchased in September 2022. The car seems to have done a factory reset that I did not initiate. I last drove the car yesterday to and from work and parked it in my driveway overnight, as usual. This morning, when I started it, I noticed that the main screen said "resetting" and when it finished, it went to the usual disclaimer page, followed by the home page that displays the clock. However, the clock was now on Eastern Standard Time, and not Daylight Saving Time and the dashboard display was different than my usual. That was the first clue that something was wrong. Upon further inspection, I found that my phone had been unpaired and all my settings for warning chimes, door unlock, ambient lighting, navigation favorites, etc., were gone. Everything was gone, and I didn't initiate this. What's interesting is that the car received an OTA update last week, which self-installed without incident, or any noticeable changes, for that matter. It was something minor having to do with the Audio system and something else I couldn't read before it disappeared from the screen. I'm wondering if anyone here has experienced an unwanted reset like this. It's annoying that I now have to set everything back up from scratch.

My 2023 G90 did the same thing this morning. I am not sure why but I was driving it until about 6pm yesterday with no issues but when I started it this morning everything was reset.
It kept the seat settings and my digital key but that was about all. Hopefully Genesis will let us know what occurred.

I wonder if the settings can be saved to USB? Does anyone know?

Yeah, just had 2 customers come in this morning asking about it on their GV70s. Must have been a weird glitch that happened during an updating process.

Exact same thing happened to me this morning. Reset my profile, but kept my wife’s secondary profile.

I have a 2021 GV80/Prestige. 30K miles
Today I started it up & all my settings were somehow back to factory default !!!! What pain.
Does anyone have a clue why this happened ?

same darn thing happened to me. Just spent an hour in setup mode reconfiguring car and re-setting my Sirius favorites

Today my wife went to use her 4 month old GV70 and found that her entire profile was missing! Everything, from log in screen to ambient lighting, all gone. However, my profile as driver #2, was still there but I lost the ambient lighting, lift gate height and a couple of other conveniences. Has anyone else had this happen?

Same as me…started my car this morning and my user profile and all my settings gone. 4 months of settings wiped out. Someone in IT should be held accountable for this.

Dumb question here…. how do you see the 12 volt reading? Also, my car went back to factory settings for me too. The second driver profile was not impacted.

I have an accessory that plugs into the 12 V auxiliary port and provides two additional USB ports as well as a readout of the battery voltage.

Had a strange thing happen today. The entire system reset itself, and right back to initial setup. All settings were wiped out. Not too big a deal to redo everything, but...why? Has this happened to anyone else?

Happened to me as well. All initial set up lost. Around 12:30 PM eastern time while I was driving. Would be nice to know why.

I just got off the phone with Genesis support after being on hold for 45 minutes. I got the basic reply “we know there’s a problem. The engineers are working on it.“ They walked me through some “fix” as they called it. It restored the name of my profile and said it would prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately there’s nothing they can do to restore the settings.

Wife's Kona EV. Both profiles gone. Reset to defaults. Ugh!!
Haven't started my GV60 yet... I'll wait until tomorrow when I have more time to reprogram everything.
