Mass Issue: Genesis Infotainment Driver/User Profile Settings Reset Discussion

Had a strange thing happen today. The entire system reset itself, and right back to initial setup. All settings were wiped out. Not too big a deal to redo everything, but...why? Has this happened to anyone else?

Something on mine reset today, too. Got a pop-up saying all features may not work and no longer asks for my fingerprint at start-up. What the hell?

Never had the mph showing in between the two and did the update last week. MPH shows on the heads up only or the large screen display.

Yes. Both profiles on our Kona EV were wiped clean. Haven't touched my GV60 yet.

I found this to get the MPG back. I found it on mine, but I don't remember being able to put the check mark on it, but it is back to the car one more time today.,

Today I started it up & all my settings were somehow back to factory default !!!! What pain.
Does anyone have a clue why this happened ?

This is very wide spread. First clue your driver profiles are missing. Supposedly some errant signal sent to the cars deleting the user profiles and then, subsequently, all settings associated with the profiles. Everything back to day one. I lost dozens of saved places in Navigation, it will be a huge amount of work just replacing them.

Got into the car and was greeted with a prompt on the display that said the account was disabled from the phone and settings would be reset. Initially I didn’t hit ‘ok’ in the hope that a restart would bring things back to normal. It didn’t. The car would not enable any input until I hit ‘ok’, so ‘ok’ it was.

So radio stations & radio settings were lost as well as some driver settings.

Anyone ever have this happen (electrified G80). Car has been perfect up to this glitch.

I did notice that the saved places are also stored in the phone app where you can resend to the car if you have the connected services.

I know when I re set up my phone, it downloaded them, but I think it was just for Google maps and not for the Genesis map program.

It's not you. There are hundreds of comments in the Genesis groups on Facebook posted by others who experienced the same reset today (as I did). It looks like a serious issue with the update they pushed out cleared out everyone's Driver 1 settings. It has affected lots of years and models.

We had the very same issue. We reprogrammed our SirusXM stations and other settings but were surprised to learn when we got home that the custom lift gate opening height we had configured was among the settings reset by whatever anomaly plagues us all. We learned of it when the lift gate had a run-in with our garage door which caused some cosmetic damage to the paint. We expect Genesis will resolve this for us.

2023 G80 here. Just happened to me. Started car and received message all setting being reset to factory settings. Nav favorites , radio, phone pair, everything

Maybe they can undo the update. I was able to get my profile back but lost ever thing else. I did find out that the radio shuts off on engine shut down and has to turned back on after start up. Now to start loading everything back to normal but too damn hot in TX to mess with it.
