  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I can't seem to find any instructions on how to disable the easy access feature with the seat sliding back and forward. Just got a 2013 Sedan fully loaded.
Sales guy didn't have a clue. I'd prefer not having this feature drawing power every time I enter or exit the car.
Thanks in advance for any guidance

Congratulation!

I did that with my 2011 4.6. It should be in the SETTINGS menu somewhere. You have to RTFM or poke around SETTINGS menu.

Enjoy the feature. It does not use enough power to make a difference. I've been using it for 11 years and it makes life easier. Features like that are the reason to buy a Genesis.

I agree but to each their own. While it was a feature I wanted, and had on my previous BMWs (if I remember correctly I did have to code it on the BMWs), Elton45 is driving a ten year old car and he might be worried about the motor failing leaving him with the seat in the wrong position. I can understand that.

LoL... Yes indeed. Doesn't look like seat motor burnout is an issue either. Point taken.

Limit switch failures on the seat and steering wheel were common with the 2009's and 2010s. I stopped using easy access on my cars when the warranty(ies) expired. I'm not of sufficient girth to need it, and as a former 2009 owner who had a couple switches replaced under warranty, I'm once bit and twice shy. Yes I know it's a possible DIY fix but I'm a firm believer in the RoPoPODriSP*.

Understand, but I buy a car for the features so I use them. Think how much you can save on tires by not driving. My wiper blades las a long time since I started just pulling over and waiting out the rain.

Well at 5'11 156lbs almost any access is easy. I followed the self tutorial and shut off the easy access them adjusted seats, mirrors etc to my liking and hit the memory feature.
And yes..there is a strong draw to use any feature available. (Also saw the you tube re:limit switches on seat track).
Have to admit it's not only fun,but pride-of-ownership provoking to play with all the "bells and whistles" to adjust them to my liking.
Thanks to all for the input on this

First, let me say, EdP I have sort of trolled you for a long time. You are pretty much right on all the time.

I have a 2019 3.3T AWD Sport Prestige. About 45K miles on it. I just noticed that my seat isn't moving regardless of the easy access exit being set to normal or extended. The lever on the side of the seat does move the seat back and forth.

Any ideas? Thanks.
