  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i would appreciate help. please. Supposedly I have an instrument cluster failure. my speedometer and gas guage all dials do not work yet the electron digital milage readout panel still works. Does anyone know about this? Do I have to replace the entire cluster which is very expensive or can the dials be fixed? thank you

I had this same issue on a different car, some of the gauges working and some not yet the car ran fine. The dealership found damage to the wiring under the hood from rodents which they were able to repair. Being an act of nature, my insurance covered 90% of the damage.

thank you..I live in the desert so I get it. so instead of buying an entirlely new cluster, you were able to repair just the wire that went to that part of the instrument panel.. where was it the 2014 model 3.8?

Yes, the dealership found wiring damage that was consistent with their scanner fault readings. They repaired the wiring damage and I didn't have any issues for well over 160K+ miles.

Problem Solve for now. I looked up problems for this car and kept seeing that some people just pulled out every fuse and pushed it back in..Did not even new fuses... Well this worked. May be a short term fix but I have more info now if it happens again.

Thanks and good to know for your issue. My 2014 Genesis 3.8 Sedan has almost 225K miles and my only issue is the TPMS which from an older thread. I purchased all new OEM sensors and will have them installed and synched to their proprietary computer when I have the transmission filter/pan replaced as well as the TSB for the corrosion accomplished.

I had the same issue with the Cluster on my 2014 Genesis Sedan. It has always been garaged and at the time it had about 40,000 Miles. I just purchased a used one with as close as I could find with more miles on it. That way I could sell the car and explain why it has 50K on the Cluster and 40K on the Car. I was super easy to replace and got the replacement on eBay. If you buy a new one I think they are around 1,500.00, and it would have zero miles on it, so they send it out to a third party to set the mileage, the dealer cannot set the mileage. So instead I paid 100.00 for a used one and lived with the mileage shift.
