  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

looks like the new 10 speed auto will definitely be going into this car - if Hyundai decide to build it.

I'm talking about a 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 producing over 600hp
with a base price between $80-$90,000

Hyundai won't confirm it

but I'm certain it will happen, by the time the next generation M5 comes out - if not before.

....I wonder if BMW see it coming -

one thing is for certain - it' going to be a wake up call

incredible that no one on this forum has replied to the biggest news in recent years for Hyundai

come on fellas - a little enthusiasm if you please

oh...and it's going to happen

they WILL build an M5 fighter

Mark my words :D

Ain't gonna happen. 80-90K? 600 HP? Would you invest 10 million or more to sell 20-30 cars? Hyundai I think is smarter.

Is this news or wishful thinking? While I have seen "news" about Kia and Hyundai building a 10 speed tranny, I have not seen any news about a 600 hp M5 fighter. Can you post some links to some actual news about this?

When I bought the car, I had this discussion with one of the Hyundai tech guys.

When you stop and think about it - it's a natural progression
Why wouldn't they build an M5 fighter ?

where do they go from here ?
Market share is what it's about - and Hyundai are on fire

they are only a few years away from knocking on BMW's door
that my friend is a solid fact

Everyone laughed at Nissan and toyota too

No one is laughing now

another great way to put it:

You need to look past your rearview mirror to see what's up ahead

Take a good look at Hyundai as a whole -

What direction do YOU think they're going to take ?

Do you believe for a second - that Hyundai will become stagnate -
or do you believe they are coming into their own

Hyundai WILL build an M5 fighter by the time the next generation M5 appears

How many $80K cars do Nissan/Infinity sell? Thank you.
That's what show cars are for- not mass production for a limited few.

Hyandai should add an extra $5K and sell a real R-Spec, tweak the Equus to the high brows and hit the money markets hard as they have with Sonata, Elantra, Veloster and new Azera which is fantastic.

New Santa Fe model, hybrids of Tuscon & Santa Fe and new higher end Veracruz has Hyundai with a full quality line up for the masses= PROFITS

I think Hyundai has already started building the fighter.. Its called an Genesis R Spec :D

Hyundai built the engine for this back in 2007. Never delivered it to market for the 4.6. Seems unlikely the 5.0 GDI could be built out to 600HP , A better idea would try to up the torque , 450 ish HP is more than enough if you can deliver 450 Lbs if torque. A small turbo or Supercharger could do that.

But. Hyundai has NO plans to develop a manual or twin Clutch trans. Without out one or the other it is not really going to compete with M5.

Heck the current RSpec doesn't have have true shift lock.

Maybe some day but it you assume it takes 3 years to get to market and there are NO rumors of any activity to build the required trans or engine or multi setting suspension, this isn't going to happen.

what we should hope for is a trans remap for the RSpec... If they could deliver better shifts I think I would pull the trigger... for now, I think I hold on to the 4.6 for one more year.

These types of cars aren't SUPPOSED to sell a lot. They're halo cars to get people walking into dealerships to buy Accents, Elantras and Sonatas.

I think people are already parading to Hyundai dealerships to see current line up without building a 1/2 billion dollar fantasy car not intended to sell but a few of. Bad investment. They aren't GM thank God.

Exactly :D

It isn't the point to build the car to sell tons of them at the dealership

it's a Halo car

made to draw attention to the brand

Hyundai will build an M5 fighter - trust me

and if they only sell a handfull..........

they can call it a success when tons of new Hyundai customers come in to see it -

and they walk out with an R Spec :grouphug:

That's the meat and gravy :)

Along with a few Sonatas of course ;)
