  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Now I'm scared!
I went into TexasDirectAuto (Google them-What an amazing experience!) in Houston.
I asked for a valuation on my pristine 2009 Black/Black 4.6 w/technology pack loaded Genesis.
I have only 27K miles on it with new tires. (The factory DunFlaps were bald at 19K,.....that's another post.)

They came back with a $23,000.00 valuation.
When I do the math, I guess it's not too bad, but for some reason, I had expected more.
Let's hope that Hyundai gets it together to offer their early owners screaming deals to step up to new Genesis or Equus. If not, they are simply giving all their gain back to their competition.

I actually am in the market to get a 2009 4.6 right now, but the sad thing is there is only one dealership near me with a 2009 4.6 and they are asking for $27000. I sure as hell ain't gonna pay them that when I see on autotrader I can get a 2010 for that price. That sounds about right what they are offering you. I will only buy this car if I can get it around 21000-23000.

In real estate and the auto business, prices are always negotiable. If you are seriously interested in selling, try CarMax also.

Remebmer that these places are in business to make money by purchasing your car at wholesale prices and selling to customers at retail prices to make a profit. They have lots of expenses, such as borrowing costs to finance the purchase of your car, insurance costs, minor repairs and maintenance, detailing cost and periodic cleaning etc of the vehicle, salesman commision, rent/mortgage on the used car lot, adminsitrative costs, advertising costs, etc.

Sounds about right. 10 months ago I got $28xxx for the same car, though my purchase price (off lease) was $23xxx. That was before the 2012 was out obviously.
What does Edmunds say?

Carmax offer is generally 500-600 lower than Texas Direct. They seem to use the same book values and Texas direct tries to remain a little higher to edge Carmax out. The buy price you're seeing is about right, I just paid $25k for a 2009 4.6 with 16k miles and tech package. Let me know if you're still selling, I may have a local Houston buyer for you.
