  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Sandy:

Actually years ago (I am showing my age on this one) Volvo had a TV commericial and a magazine ad featuring a real Emergency Physician getting off work, walking out of the ER and getting into a big Volvo (760 series I believe). All of us in the business got a big kick out of it, because the Doc was dressed in a white shirt and tie, something none of us would ever dream of wearing on the job (ties carry MRSA and other germs and a psychotic patient could strangle you with it, and a white shirt would not last 15 minutes before being defiled with blood, spit, vomit).

Thanks for the compliment. I couldn't do my job without volunteer folks like you. You guys make me look good.

I did a stats summary (with an update) on age here: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=5652&highlight=bi-modal. Scroll down to post #65 on that thread, then see #88 for the udpate.

Haven't had the motivation to do it again on the data in this thread, but perhaps I will down the road.

To look at the numbers on your chart from a different angle, owners who responded as grouped by age.

PERCENTAGE BY AGE GROUPING

65 to 80 --- 21%
50 to 65 --- 23%
35 to 50 --- 25%
20 to 35 --- 13%
01 to 20 --- 04%

Over 50--- 45% ---- Under 50--- 55%

OK Happy1...you got me motivated.

Here are the stats for this thread (chart attached). So far 75 people have chimed in with their ages:

Average: 49.1
Median: 50.0
Oldest: 81
Youngest: 21
Standard Deviation: 14.3
(you're a "normal" Genny owner if you are between 34.8 and 63.4)
We have three Modes at 37, 56, and 68

Here were the old stats from the other thread back in March 2011:

Average: 46.9
Median: 47.5
Oldest: 80
Youngest: 16
Standard Deviation: 17.5
(you were a "normal" Genny owner if you are between about 29 & 65)
We were modal at 28, with secondary modes at 40 & 53

Make sure you stick it to the reckless V8 owners, and not the law-abiding V6 owners who rarely file claims.
