  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2024 G70 and am trying to connect to CarPlay. All the menu settings in the car come up, and I checked the CarPlay settings in the car as the manual states. I have Siri and CarPlay turned on on my iPhone 15. I have plugged a USBc (both ends) I to my phone and the USB C outlet in the glove box. I even bought new Data cables.

I see it searching on my phone but it never finds my Genesis. I know CarPlay on my phone works because CarPlay works on our Expedition (wireless).

Any help appreciated

Try the USB port under the climate controls in the center console, not the one in the glovebox. The glovebox port is often for audio only and won't connect to CarPlay.

I have tried it but I’m not sure if the cable was “data” or not. I’ll give it a try with other cables, or maybe need to buy one. Unfortunately the change to “C” USB has wreaked havoc on the collection of USB cables I need! 🤨

Thanks for the suggestion!

No worries! The cable hunt is a real struggle these days. Hope you find one that works

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Ordered another data cable that should be here today. Will update. I don’t really care about using CarPlay in the car. I have other reasons for wanting to get it working which are not a big deal. But now that I can’t get it working I’m obsessed with figuring it out

When the cable arrives, try starting over completely - remove any previous bluetooth connection that’s on the phone and delete the phone from the car.

SUCCESS!!!

Data cable arrived and worked as per Glassman’s suggestion.

David-R, took your advice as well. Thanks!

If you want to go wireless, you can buy a small wireless adapter. Mine works great.

Good to know, thx

I just bought a CarPlay device for my motorcycles. That is why I was trying to connect my car. I wanted to see how some of my apps worked on CarPlay. Our Expedition has wireless CarPlay and I’m going to use it on an upcoming trip.

The factory Navigation in the Expedition has done some weird (stupid) things on previous trips so I am going to use inRoute via CarPlay. I have a lot of experience with inRoute for motorcycle trips.
