Realistically with a new GV70 engine, when should the first oil change occur to be safest?

I did 2000 miles .. then at 5000 miles each time.

In the 1950s, it was at 500 miles. Some people have never changed in spite of better oils and better manufacturing.
You will get many opinions, but I have never deviated from the manual and never had an engine problem.

If you live in the Arctic and never drive more than two miles to heat the engine, go a bit sooner. There is a severe listing in the manual. I never found a reason to distrust the guys that give me a 100,000 mile warranty, They should know and did testing.
