suddenly my car doesn't always recognize my digital key

I have been using my phone as my digital key but recently late October 2025) sometimes I get to the car and it doesn't recognize the phone. It has gotten so bad that I now carry my fob again. Am I the only one or have others suddenly started having this happen.

Every once in awhile my car may take 2 seconds to start with my phone in my pocket. I find if I wait, it starts instead of pressing start again. It has NEVER failed to start in the year I have had it and I NEVER carry my key. In fact often I don’t even carry my phone (just want to jump in and move the car onto the driveway) and I just use my Apple Watch to start it.

EDIT I noticed that this is the EV 60 forum and I am driving a 2025 GV80 coupe. So the digital key is probably implemented differently (improved).

The problem wasn't starting. It starts fine every time with my phone. It is the door opening.

For me experience is the same, door and engine.
Your door does not unlock or it takes a few tries? If the mirrors unfold it must recognize the digital key. Do they?

It just didn't want to unlock. I reverted to my smart card and eyescanner to get in.

The last couple of years when we got a Ota nav/software update my digital key would either stop working or be buggy. If anything weird happens I delete the digital key in the car and app and re-set it up.

I've had that happen and it's always a pain to reinstall the key. There are a number of instructions out there, all with slightly different steps. And it seems to me that if you don't follow the EXACT correct process it doesn't work. Does anyone have steps to install the dig key that work every time? Thanks in advance.
