  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am starting my research for a replacement vehicle when my lease ends - leaning towards the 2026 model of the Electrified GV70 since I have thoroughly enjoyed my'23 model.
As I have been investigating the various EVs out there, the Jeep Wagoneer S caught my attention - mainly because of the insane discounts being offered. Has anyone looked at or driven one ?

There is a reason why the discounts are substantial. Please search for reviews on YouTube and see a few examples below. I took delivery of a 2026 Electrified GV70 yesterday, and I'm enjoying it.

Wow - sounds like they are beta testing them on the public !!

Give us your mandatory requirements, your I really, really want this feature, nice but not absolutely necessary, with this I don't like the car, with this feature I disqualify the car.

I will use myself as my example: mandatory: small size, luxury, powerful performance; I really want: Easy entry/easy exit, HUD, 360 surround cameras, lots of buttons and switches for features I might want to adjust while on the road, a good dealership nearby, a blended braking system; nice: large battery pack OR rapid charging; don't like: too many features adjusted via the info screen; disqualify: Minimalist system (e.g., Tesla model 3/Y; Polestar 3).

A year and a half ago, for me this meant the Genesis GV60 Performance. I think it still does. The new Porsche Macan EV also meets my specs but it is at least 50% more expensive once you go through the famous Porsche option list to make it a similar vehicle. Customers with different answers, will come out with different vehicles.

Ive already got a list of EVs that I'm interested in - was mainly curious if anyone had experience with the Wagoneer S

These are what I'm looking at so far:
2026 Electrified GV70
Blazer EV SS
Cadillac Optiq
Jeep Wagoneer S (probably off my list now)
Rivian R1S
Audi SQ6/Q6 eTron

I've been eyeing the Rivian R2, comes out in 2026. Smaller version of the R1 and probably comparable in size to the GV70.

I will definitely check out the R2 if it is available when I need my replacement. I would be nervous about buying something from a startup though - with the uncertainty around EVs lately, I wouldn't want to end up with a vehicle and no support, like Fisker

I was in a similar position a few months ago. I had been intrigued with the Macan EV as it seemed to check all of my boxes, but I was having trouble getting over the price tag. I was looking for other options and came across the electrified GV70, which was intriguing. I then discovered the GV60 which I had never heard of, and it was even better for me. To make a long story short, I ended up buying a low-mileage 2024 Performance GV60 last week and I am loving it. My son was pushing for the Macan, so I created a spreadsheet comparing features of the Macan 4 and 4S to the GV60. The bottom line is that the GV60 leaves nothing on the table, and has some features that you can't get at any price on the Macan. For example, I have been using face and fingerprint recognition almost always, and it is not available on the Macan. It provides a surprising emotional connection. It is as if the car says "I know you!" and then "I trust you to drive me!"

For interest, here is the spreadsheet: It was sweeter still that I got mine at many $10K's less.

Great list! I agree with everything (as long as it fits a 6-1/240 lb body).

On that list, the only other EV that has 800V architecture is Audi Q6. That to me is a major consideration.

I had a Macan 4S PTS order in for 5 months (since August 2025), but I couldn't get a production date until around Christmas. Unfortunately, it wasn't the expected March/April, it was for June with a possible delivery in August (12 months after the order and large deposit). I had a tough decision on whether or not to stick it out and wait. I really liked the customization that they provided.

However, the choice was made for me after learning about the status of VAG's software stack and teams, and how the Macan's software delays caused the Macan launch to be pushed by 12 months. Even then, there were a ton of bugs in the software that a select number of owners were seeing. Some critical and dangerous. Porsche was not able to resolve many of the issues. They told people to wait for a software update, some people waited for 5-6 months. Some of them had loaners during this time. Then after months of delays, the update came and without 2 weeks, it was pulled. It wasn't fixing all of the claimed issues, and was causing new issues. The software was a mess. A few weeks later, the update started getting pushed out again.

That combined with the fact that it appears that VAG has moved on from this software stack and they plan to focus on software from Rivian in the future. So the new Macan EV's software is already legacy. Porsche has proven to me that it's software is a mess and I will wait until it is stable for a couple of years before I consider another purchase with them.

My experience with MBUX has been much better. Even my experience with the latest Ford software has been acceptable.

I've done a lot of research on what I want to order next. It doesn't have to be an EV, but I'd like something that has a combination of power, efficiency (Spanish ECO or ZERO sticker), a smooth comfort mode and suspension that the family will accept, has enough driver hip and shoulder space (6'1" & 260 lbs), and has a nice mix of small size for getting around the city w/ enough cargo space to be practical.

I've got a Defender 110 Diesel that I can use for long trips or hauling larger loads.

The GLC 400 EV and the Q6 e-tron are a bit longer than I'd like. I have to have ventilated seats, which the e-tron doesn't have in Spain. The GLC EV has everything that we need, but it's a bit too long and the glass roof that doesn't have a fabric shade is likely to be a problem on the Costa del Sol.

The 2026 SQ5 checks most all of the boxes, but it has a lot of cheap interior parts, and isn't compelling to look at for me. It can get an ECO sticker, but 19 mpg city is not great. The screens seem to be low quality. The reverse and 360 camera seems to be the same low resolution one that I didn't like in the 2025 Macan EV (and was hoping the 2026 Macan EV would improve upon).

The DS 7 4x4 360 is interesting, but it seems to have quite a few design quirks that turn out to be flaws. I may still try to test drive one.

The NX 450h+ checks a lot of boxes too, but there's just something about its looks, paint options, power, etc that just don't inspire me. The RX is something I feel good about driving, but it's too long for my current needs. I will test drive an NX soon to see if something about the feel of it can get me to the next step.

The Ioniq 5 N is fun and checks a lot of boxes, but I want some better quality materials, comfort, luxury.

I need to look at the GV60 as well. The Magma is interesting, but probably not a soft enough ride for my family in comfort mode.

So many, many months into the process, I'm considering the GV70 EV and hoping to test drive one in the US. They are supposed to go on sale in Spain in a month or two as Genesis is returning to the country after a few years.

Great high level market survey, thanks! I own a GV80, which like your Rover, is my people-mover Sunday-stroller, but I'd like to have a functional comfortable EV or hybrid to run errands in. I think the tech, design, and especially batteries are still in their early adolescence, so I have been sitting on the sidelines. If I can find a steal on a used one to play with in the meantime, I may (but I am exactly your size and most current options feel too cramped for my comfort). Leaning towards a Kia at the moment, good dealer here, same Genesis UI, more bang for buck, though not the lujo of the brands you mentioned. !Suerte vivir en la Costa!

I think an important consideration is the function that the vehicle will fill. Will it be primarily a commuting vehicle? In this case look into the range (reduce the advertised range by 80% in warm climates and 70% in cold climates). Will it road trip frequently? Then look into the DCFC speeds more. Or a combination of both, the buyer will need to balance both.
