The good news, New Hampshire cleans up the roads rather quickly so you may never actually drive on the snow.I have a 2024 GV80 Prestige 3.5. Heading to New Hampshire and wondering how those wide low profile tires perform in snow. Thanks in advance.
Not well. Snow tires on a 20" wheel are a must.I have a 2024 GV80 Prestige 3.5. Heading to New Hampshire and wondering how those wide low profile tires perform in snow. Thanks in advance.
Too big and heavy to deal with snow without dedicated snows..You may be able to get going, but low temps and the ability to stop just isn't there..Not well. Snow tires on a 20" wheel are a must.
What tires do you have and how many miles on them? If they are OEM Primacy, snow performance will be spotty. SLOW DOWN! AWD helps you GO, it does NOT help you STOP!. Tires are the # 1 determinant (after driver skill) of snow performance. A Consumer Report article a few years back quoted a professional driver that he would "rather have a 2 wheel drive car, even rear wheel drive, with proper snow tires than an AWD/4WD vehicle with marginal tires" when tackling snow.I have a 2024 GV80 Prestige 3.5. Probably because of the much lower center of gravity of the G80. I had to sell a 4 Runner which I loved because it could not make it down my steep icy Tahoe driveway in the winter without fish tailing--even with snow tires on. Got a Forester with its low slung boxer engine and with Blizzaks for my winter driving now--never fails. But I'm keeping my GV80 for good weather and long trips.2021 3.5 Advanced here in Canada on 22's and love this car dearly. That being said, this thing handles like a cow on skates on ice/snow, even with brand new Michelin X-ice tires. Like NVQB10 said, you need to adjust your driving habits and SLOW down
I find the snow setting helps somewhat, but I am still far from impressed.
Honestly, besides the obvioud increased ground clearance, I find my G80 AWD was better on snowy roads than the GV80.
Best snow car I ever had was my '62 Corvair with snow tires.great minds think alike. I have a 2016 outback 3.6r and it's a battle tank in the snow.
Amen. Keep it forever. The 3.6s are great and they've been left by the wayside. I bought a 6sp manual for the same reason.great minds think alike. I have a 2016 outback 3.6r and it's a battle tank in the snow.
snow safe at any speed!Best snow car I ever had was my '62 Corvair with snow tires.
