Welcome. I see the title of your message mentioned 2025+ but your vehicle ownership is showing 2015. Please clarify which vehicle you're looking to update.

You should not have to pay for the latest update. Just open the website below and type in your VIN or car model info, and follow the directions to download it onto your PC, then SD card.

I'm thinking that the software update is the same for the entire DH series, but I don't want to risk causing a program error in any of our cars. I used the updater to download separate files for 2015, 16, & 17. Does anyone know if this software is specific?

Why would you try any update for a car that is not your year? Probably, there is protection preventing the wrong firmware from loading into the car, by why risk it? The hardware does change from year to year.
