The G70 second facelift (PE2) is officially on the horizon, signaling the continuation of one of Korea’s most respected luxury sports sedans. Genesis recently completed the Korean emissions and noise certification for the updated G70, paving the way for its market launch as the 2026 Genesis G70, even as long-running rumors of discontinuation continue to circulate.

At this stage, it remains unknown whether the second facelift will introduce any exterior or interior design changes. They already show a 2026. I wonder if by the time it hits production if it will be a 2027.

as if a facelift is what we needed. we need them to switch brake pad suppliers, switch sunroof suppliers, switch diff fluid suppliers, switch window trim suppliers and switch turbo oil line suppliers.

Sounds like they are just delaying the inevitable. Facelift, instead of a ground-up redesign, means they clearly do not wish to spend the R&D money on this platform. Kinda sad but not at all surprising. SUVs and crossovers are where the volume is at; sedan sales are dwindling. Unless you're a segment leader like BMW with its 3-series, it is mighty difficult to sell enough G70s to recoup a full redesign. Instead, they are focusing on pricier - and more profitable - models like the GV90, and hybrid versions of everything they can hybridize. G70 chassis is just too compact to have room for hybrid system though.

Hopefully, they spend whatever limited budget wisely, on stuff prospective G70 owners really care about. I've already bought my replacement, so I don't have any skin in this game.

They need to expand their dealer network as they expand their brand. Having 3 or 4 dealers in a large city is nice, but having to drive 500 miles in any direction to find just one dealer isn't working.

I love the Genesis vehicle lineup, and don't believe getting serviced with Hyundai mechanics is ideal. They should have had a better plan in place rather than these sudden shutdowns of available service locations for our vehicles. That's the main reason we just traded out of ours

I assume the “they” that you are referring to is Genesis corporate. Genesis does not open dealership nor do they directly control dealerships. Dealerships are franchises and are owned and operated by people outside of corporate (individuals or groups). If there is money to be made in a particular location, the dealer will likely stay. If it isn’t profitable they will close. Dealers are in the business to make money. Gernesis corporate can’t force them to stay. They don’t own the dealership.

Like what would you suggest? Letting Hyundai service Genesis car has turned out to be disaster, in most cases. They aren’t qualified. Sorry this doesn’t help you in NM. Maybe there should be a dealer selling Genesis there in the first place, but again not really a Genesis call. Franchises have protections granted by state laws.

Can't wait to see the refresh.
I hope they go back to keeping the Brembo brakes on the upper tier models, instead of all models G70. And I really, really hope they give it some more power and torque. That would be outstanding. (Although it is a great performing daily driver car as is.)

I understand how the dealership network is set up. It's just a tough spot as a consumer that really likes and wants these cars. Luckily when I've needed a dealer it worked out. Had a starter fail when we were in Las Vegas, bought our first G70 there and they got it replaced ASAP. Also had a oil line recall done there a year prior.
I realize there's a price to pay for having a low volume car in a lower population base. I decided to take the easy way out and get a car with a wide dealer network.
