    Soft open on glove box?

Hi all, Recently had the oil changed at my local dealership. During the visit they let me know the cabin air filter was dirty and asked if I wanted to have them do it while I was there. The price was reasonable so I gave them the green light. I haven't had the car (2013 3.8) long but I...

Trunk Lid & Glove Box Clip Like Holding Locations

My trunk lid has some type of locking clip holding mechanism attached to it which looks like something should be there. Does anyone know what this is for? Is my 2015 missing some type of part (maybe a safety related item) which should be in this location? Ditto for the glove box which looks...

2011 Genesis Sedan Glove Box Sticks

Just noticed that the glove box seems to be stuck closed, and I have to press the release several times before the glove box will open. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any ideas for a fix?

    The Glove Box Mystery

In the 3.8 when you open the glove box, you'll see two black plastic holders in the middle of the cover. Refer to page 3-153 of the manual and you can see them. Those holders appear to accommodate a pen but the manual doesn't address it. The black leatherette manual container did come with a...

Replacing glove box piston -- how to remove glove box?

Hi all, When changing the cabin air filter on my 2010 4.6, I hyper-extended the glove box and the piston that makes it "slow down" when opening broke its top off. I got a new part on eBay, but I am having a lot of trouble getting to the old piston. How exactly do you remove the glove box...

    How remove glove box lock/button.mechanism?

OK - like others on here, my 2011 3.8 has the "sticking glove box" syndrome. I tried the silicone spray to no avail. Apparently the best fix is to have the lock replaced. But I don't want my dealer to fool with it, so I want to remove it myself and then re-install it after examining (hopefully...

    Glove Box Light

I just picked up a Genesis 4.6 so I am kind of new to it. I am in the process of changing all my interior lights to a cool white color. So far I have done the inside trunk light. I was doing the glove box next since they use the same cover and everything. Well my glove box lights have not...

    Glove box sticks FIX

Spray some silcone on the Black plastic pins on either side of the door and some in the small holes that the pins latch into. silicone or tire shine will work. Only have had to put it on mine once in 15 months. I posted this fix in another thread about a year ago.

    Glove box sticks closed

Hello, folks - I have a 2011 4.6 that we love with 16K miles on it. Since I got it at 4700 miles, I've had to moderately rap forward on the glove box door to enable it to be opened. Once I rap on it one time, then it opens as it should. It will then re-open fine for a short period of time, but...

    Sticking Glove Box Fix

The glove box sticks closed because the two black plastic release pins located on both sides of the top edge of the glove box which move inward toward the center of the box when the latch button is pressed get dry and stick(hang). Happens more often in very dry air. I sparyed a little silicone...

Glove box latch won't operate properly

When I push the latch to open my glove box, the mechanism seems to not fully activate and the box won't drop open. Repeated "pushing" of the latch/button does not help. Usually I have to use my other hand and assist by slightly pulling it open. Obviously the release mechanism is out of...
