luggage

Has anyone successfully fit 2 medium and 2 small suitcases in the trunk (without dropping forward the back seats)?

First, my apologies if a similar thread already exists on the forum - I searched fairly extensively and found nothing on it. My question is whether any of you have had a need to use a luggage carrier? I have a great Samsonite 'soft' roof mounted carrier, but I'm hesitant to use it on my Genny...
