signalling

I happened to be leading my dad (driving my '08 Azera Ultimate) in his new Equus Ultimate this past week and noticed that when he used his turn signal, the corresponding head-light (DRL, I suppose actually) would go out. Is that the intended/expected behavior? :confused:
