    Spark plugs and brakes.......

I've always done most maint. on every car I've owned (oil, plugs, plug wires, brake pads/drums, etc..). In other words, the simple stuff. Quick intro: I have a pre-owned, 2013 GC Base model, that had 20K on it when I bought it, so I have some very general questions: 1. Are the "stock" plugs...

    Spark Plugs changed 4.6L

Did it last night in about two hours, in no particular rush. Didn't need anything 'special' to make the change. Spark plug socket, long and short extensions, 10 mm socket, that was pretty much it. I had a swivel-joint that helped a little bit but could have done with out it if needed. The...

    2009 4.6 Replaced Spark Plugs

Bought plugs from the dealership at $11.XX each and hired a local mechanic to install them. I helped and watched mostly but he had to take all the plastic off the front along with the air filter box. He had all the right tools and it took him 2hrs. Anybody know thread size on 3.8 spark plugs?

Does anybody know the thread length on the stock spark plugs to be 3/4" or 1" in length? I looked in the manual and all it says was that they are iridium coated? Thanks

    3.8 Spark Plug replacement

OK this is a side bar thread to the one posted in the 4.6 Tau forum regarding replacing the spark plugs. Long story short, it was discovered that replacing the plugs was going to be $400 on the V8 due to the dealer stating that the intake would have to be removed. Well since I have the V6 , I...

4.6 Spark Plug replacement at Walser Hyundai

I called the dealer to get a quote for spark plug replacement so when my car needs them changed, I have an idea of what I will be spending. They quoted $400 for the 8 plugs to be done, but the tech did mention that they have not done one yet, so the Genesis hasn't been technically priced out...

$430 for spark plug replacement for........

I just checked with the dealer and they want $430 to replace the plugs in my GF's Sonata LX V6 which runs awesome and has 60,000 miles on it. Wow little spendy but, I know I can either do it myself, or find a non-dealer to do it for less so I'm not worried. Can't imagine what the Genesis V8...
