tick or creak

I have a intermittent dashboard plastic tick/creak sound which appears to be coming from the central A/C vents on the dash. I would not really consider this a rattle, but it can become quite irritating if you fixate on it. If you push on the A/C vent front, I can reproduce the sound. It seems...
