underpan or splash

It happened... the first real problem I've had with this car. I was leaving the gym parking lot and as I reversed the car, I heard a loud crack and a scraping noise. Turns out I parked too close to the curb and the underpan? or the splash guard, whatever you call it, got cracked and was hanging...
