  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was rear ended tonight with 405 miles on the new 3.8. The car stopped behind me was pushed into me by a car driven by a non-English speaking Hispanic lady. It made a hell of a bang, but I was on the brake and my car didn't move, The car in between had moderate damage on both ends and the car that hit her had some severe front-end damage. The Genesis had absolutely not a mark on it. I could hardly believe it when I got out to check.

The lady that caused it had an out-of-state driver's license and no insurance card. That is not uncommon in Austin now days. I'm impressed with the ability of the Genesis bumper to take a heck of a whack and not be damaged.

Better look very very close. And check closely on under side while on a lift.

Wow, I was not expecting such a happy ending. That is great news! I'm glad neither you or your new baby were damaged. You really lucked out.

Not on a lift, but laying on my back on the garage floor with a flashlight I can see absolutely no damage. Given the impact and the noise, I'm still amazed.

That's is great news. Not that you were in an accident, but how well the Genesis made out. :D Thanks for posting...

Most cars will absorb the impact and the quarter panels will be deformed. To find out if there is any damage you will need to get it checked out at a body shop. Also the impact pad behind the bumper can be damaged.
