  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, my 09 4.6 genesis will not run at all. It will start but will not run. It has been in the shop for 6 weeks. They have checked timing chain and gears, cam sensors, fuel pump filters. Can not seem to find the issue. It has just under 200,000 miles. Besides using some oil pretty good car over all. Any ideas out there?
Thanka

When you say "start but not run", do you mean that it will crank, but not fire? Or does it actually start and idle for a bit, then shut off?

Actually both, it will start and run rough for a couple minutes. Other times it will not fire at all

Have you had anyone check for trouble codes? Is the Check Engine light staying when you are able to get it to run, even for a little bit?

I scrapped it. I was in it for almost 2000 and still hadn't found out what's wrong. The Genesis dealer in Lawrence KS told me that it would sit on there lot until "they had time to work on a car with 200000 miles". They also explained that they would bill me for every minute and that they would start over and not consider what the other shop had done. I scrapped it at that point.
Thanks for the reply

Sorry to hear that. Understandable, though, given the “quality” of people you were trying to deal with.
