  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This may be an old news, and some of you have probably seen it, but the August 08 issue of Motor Trend did camparo test, and gave the Sonata the 2nd place honor just behind VW Passat. The Sonata beat the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and the Ford Fusion. While Kia's Optima(08 model) finished 6th, from the group of 10 cars.

The Motor Trend ranks:

1st: Volkswagon Passat
2nd: Hyundai Sonata (09)
3rd: Toyota Camry
4th: Honda Accord
5th: Ford Fusion

2nd Tiers:
6th: Kia Optima(Pre-face-lift model before 09 gets here)
7th: Nissan Altima
8th: Chevrolet Malibu
9th: Mitsubishi Gallant
10th: Dodge Avenger

I know, I know, Motor Trend is no longer considerred as a reliable source, and they tend to have some incorrect news for the future models from time to time, but since this was the actual comparison test.....

For the details, you can grab your copy which are on sale in any newstands I think.

In any event, it's nice to see the Sonata do so well.. It's really an excellent vehicle and with the interior and exterior updates for the 2009 model year (especially interior), it's a really nice car..

It's nice to see any Hyundai/Kia vehicles to do better than Toyota. I remember I saw in some magazine the Spectra did better than the Corolla.

Both Hyundai AND Kia are going to be getting more respect as time goes on. Especially when Kia gets its version of the Genesis...
