  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Two odd things noticed today. 2022 G70.

1] Just before a rain storm I went outside to close the sunroof. A few hours later I saw a few drops of water on each front inside door. I then saw all four windows were down about a half inch. WTH? I absolutely did not lower these manually. Any ideas?

2). Later when trying to see if the key fob would lower and raise all windows by long pressing the buttons found that in fact the door windows went completely down when unlock button held but no action at all with lock button held. The sunroof did not move. Is this normal? Not sure why the up function doesn’t work.

Is there any chance these two things are related?

Thanks

Normally in the US, remote up is disabled for legal reasons.

Could well be but something I'm also used to from German cars. Anyone have any insight on the other phenomenon in #1) ?

I used "bootleg" software to enable the remote up feature on my daughter's 325i. On the line that enabled the feature, it said something along the lines of "do not set for USA."

Ford stopped having auto up antennas after they lost a lawsuit from someone that let the antenna go up his nose. After that, you had to hold the button the whole time the antenna went up. (Years after that, they went to having the antenna in the rear windshield.)

I just cannot picture the circumstances that would allow that to happen. Could it be intentional for better reception? Snot and boogers can eliminate static.

Was it this guy?

Supposedly, he was standing outside, by the car when the driver started it. Even though it took seconds for the antenna to reach his nose, he did not notice it or did not move. Apparently it then caused some brain injury, even though the mechanism used a slipping clutch and it is very easy to stop the antenna with your hand. Seems crazy to me...
