  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was just browsing the Hyundai Canada website and noticed that they are offering $11,000 off the price of the 2013 Genesis R-Spec. I guess they want to clear them out before the $62k 2015 V8 models arrive (there are no 2014 Genesis models available in Canada).

One of the Hyundai dealers near me has 8 2013 Genesis Sedans, and 15 2014 Genesis Sedans (according to their website inventory).

2014 Genesis sedans are available in the USA but not in Canada according to the Hyundai Canada website.

Yes, my dealer is in the USA. I was just noting that they have a large inventory they are going to need to unload in the next two months. Big discounts are likely.

Agreed.
They are also offering $9000 off the 3.8 with Tech Package, but only for a cash sale. The $11k off the R-Spec is for Cash, Financing or Leasing.

It is damn tempting as those 2014's have all the bugs ironed out and could likely be had $10K off easily if not more once the trucks roll in with those shiny 2015's. One could get a 21013 months ago at $10K off without hassle. Maybe get a 2014 R-Spec for just north of $35K and let the new model get the bugs ironed out?

Getting emails from local dealers advertising $36K and change for new 2013 R-spec's. The purge has begun - wonder what the 2014's will be at in two months? I guess only really difference between 2013/14 is heated steering wheel - I believe the 2013's tweaked the suspension and shifting so no other changes?

Thanks, remember that. I was also referencing any other changes that were not actual feature or option changes but updates to small issues such as wandering suspension and lazy transmission shifting that I thought was also modified, but maybe that was also for 2013.

In other words, for an R-Spec, it appears the only reason to get a 2014 over a 2103 is the heated steering wheel and the lower depreciation due to the newer model year.

I don't see the discounts getting much bigger than they are now.

When those car carriers are pulling up at the dealerships with the 2015's, I think they will fall even further.
