  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Only two weeks left on my 12 month warranty that covers adjustments. URK! "I'm making a list (and checking it twice)" of items to discuss with the dealer. I see that wiper blades are covered for one year. I'll request a new set. What else would you ask the dealer to do as your "adjustments" coverage expires?

I don't think wiper blades are covered unless its a manufacturer defect. Also, its 12month or 12,000 miles which ever comes first. so I guess you have less than 12K on the car. I would have them check the battery, tires for proper wear and make sure all lights are working.

I just had my first service yesterday at 3750 miles. At my request they did replace the wiper blades, performed a 4 wheel alignment, and are replacing the steering wheel due to a small bump on the backside at the 7:30 positon, all under warranty.

My dealer was happy to replace my wiper blades under the 12 months adjustment warranty.

I guess I keep forgeting that very few people put 12k on a car in three months like we do. My 2011 was purchased sept. 20, 2010 and has over 77k on it now.

I am bumping this thread for the benefit of newish owners. Remember that you only have 12 months of coverage for "adjustments" on your car. Got a rattle? Got a squeak? Read the one year adjustments portion of your warranty to ensure that you don't miss out on coverage. By the way, you can also get a new set of wiper blades at the last moment under that portion of your warranty. That's a money-saver missed by many folks.

Must be a different policy here in Canada. I had about 6K miles on my 13 when I took it back to the dealer for interior wind noise and one headlight being aimed higher then the other.

I was told the wind noise was normal and head light adjustment is only covered for 2k miles (three thousand kilometers.) I adjusted the head lights myself at home, just on principle. I begrudged giving them the $30 to do it.

Either the policy is different between the USA and here or I'm getting jerked around by the dealer.

Probably both.

Many Hyundai service reps are trained to say "that is normal" whenever a customer reports a problem, because they usually don't make any money doing warranty repairs and you are keeping them from servicing cars not under warranty where they make lots of money.

Warranties can vary by country, which is one reason why Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Canada are different companies. You should be able to find the warranty details in the manuals/papers that came with the car, which has all the fine print about adjustments, etc.

Maybe you ought to read your Canadian warranty. It says you get one year, or 20,000km, for adjustments.
