  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey, so both my 12V outlets stopped working in my 2010 Genesis Sedan about last week. I changed the two 15 and 10 fuses in the passenger side fuse panel labels PR/Outlets, and I switched a 25, a 10 and a 30 under the engine in that fuse panel... I called the dealership and they said it would be 140$ just to diagnose the problem.. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and what they did to fix it? It might be a short... or something I am unsure. I was also wondering if anyone has rewired their fuses to a new outlet and if that solved it. I have a buddy who is willing to rewire them and make them so they're always live for like 60 bucks, which is a FRACTION of what the dealership would charge me after they spot the problem and then fix it. Help please!! Its frustrating not being able to charge my camera on the go in my car now.

No clue what the problem is, but the $60 solution is better than going to the dealer. I'd do it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Do you think it will work if its rewired, ive never done it before or had it done. Will that solve the issue?

If properly wired it should. The guy doing it should know what he is tapping into and it should be a fused circuit. Most cars have a couple of ways of doing.

Were you able to troubleshoot the sockets not working? I just purchased a 2010, and neither the ashtray or 12V socket in the armrest are working.... ugh.
