  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My drivers window won't go up, and the door lock and unlock also won't work. Anyone know a quick fix?

My window is stuck down and won't go up :(

EDIT// Sorry guys, I posted this while I was outside working on my car and didn't really pay attention to what I was typing.... So the drivers window ended up going up, it does this once in a while, the lock/unlock works when I wants to. But all the other buttons work perfectly fine. It's just re drivers window button and the lock/unlock works when it wants to.

disconnect the battery, hold the brake for 30 seconds to a min to drain the rest of the juice, reconnect the battery

is what i would try first...

I could check on the fuses, but it works when it wants to. I couldn't get the drivers window up for a good half hour, and that's restarting the car, leaving it off for a while etc. it finally went up, but I know it'll happen again because it isn't the first time.

If it's intermittent, then shoot a quick video of the problem and show it to your dealer's service writer.

Sounds like you have a possible short some where. The window motor will either work or not work.

If it's intermittent, it's probably a bad contact in the window switch. My 10 year old Elantra does this sometimes. I have to push the switch two or three times, sometimes, to get the window down. If the window is up all winter, it might take three or four attempts to make it work, the first time in the spring.

It is a plug in connector problem in the switch housing. Some have had to have the complete driver's door window switch module replaced. There are other threads on this,
