  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noticed this afternoon all my doors were unlocked.

Car had no power at all, push to start not illuminated , power door features not working, dash completely off radio etc.... pretty much all electrical components are dead... my headlights and hazards won't turn on.

Started car fine last night and this morning, no error lights on the dash.... tried getting a jump no luck. The battery is like new no disconnect or corrosion.

I checked all interior fuse boxes and the engine compartment nothing looked blown.

Only 50k miles so cars still under warranty.

Anybody experienced anything similar? I have no idea what this could be especially since it happened so sudden.

Do you have a volt meter you can put on the battery terminals (ones in engine compartment are fine)?

Batteries can suffer rapid failure do to physical damage that compromises the cells in the battery. It usually happens during hot weather when the plastic battery partitions are weaker, but can happen any time, especially if the battery is jolted due to rough road conditions, etc. The problem may not be noticed when the car is running, but could completely drain the battery once it is stopped, and the battery has time to for the cells to leak internally and be compromised.

I don't have a tester but I'll try that prior to taking it anywhere.

The battery in my 10' Genesis started acting strange one day and the next it wouldn't start. Once of the cells had gone bad practically overnight which has happened to a handful of user here. IIRC it was around 50k miles.

Check the ground wire off the battery. Make sure it is clean and tight.

Definitely was the battery, it was completely shot had to replace and all is well now.
